codec used on E1
I've got a * box with a TDM40B and an E100P. The E1 is connected to a Shout900 VoIP gateway from net.com. My question is, when I place a call from an analog phone and that call is routed over the E1, what encoding is used? And do I have any control over that? I'm obviously not an expert here, but the Shout900 vendor is claiming that some difficulties that we are having with integration are

Comments? Supermicro P4SGE P4 FCPGA MB and Digium cards
I'm wondering if anyone has had any good/bad/indifferent experiences with Supermicro P4SGE P4 FCPGA motherboards and Digium cards? I'm looking to use this MB in an E100P E1 card solution, and I haven't had the ability to test with that configuration before I ship a system overseas (since I don't have an E1 to plug into it, it's hard for me to test, and I don't have

how scalable is digium cards?
This might be a newbie question but I'm just wondering how would it be possible to have 30 analog lines using asterisk for PBX by just using TDM40B and X100P (or are there any device>), if an ordinary PC support just 4 PCI slots? the maximum scale i guess would just be 2 x 8. Adding a new PC just for this purpose would be costly. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Newbie Issue
Hi All, I recently purchased the Asterisk Developer's Kit (TDM) to try out Asterisk. After following the directions in the Digium's FAQ topic entitled "Q. How do I configure my TDM40B and X100P?", I'm receiving the following error: WARNING[1074428608]: File chan_zap.c, Line 6748 (load_module): Ignoring rxwink ERROR[1074428608]: File chan_zap.c, Line 6692 (load_module):

Re: asterisk rpms (was: Does anyone run Asterisk on FC4? with Digium's TDM40B cards)
Morning, I've installed asterisk on FC4 and had a few problems with zaptel stuff. Having installed it on SuSE I was able to check a few things that were different. When installed with the RPMS, the udev stuff gets put into the normal 50-udev file under /etc/udev. On SuSE, it worked when the necessary zaptel section was in a separate file name 55-zaptel.udev (the name is arbitrary,

how do I get R2 signalling working with a Digium E100P E1/PRA Card
Hullo everyone, Iam new to Asterix but am trying to get R2 signalling working with a Digium E100P E1/PRA Card. My Telecom doesn't have an implementation of ISDN PRI yet, so it's R2 that is supported. Could anyone have a patch to fix this for me. Am told it has something to do with Assembly Language programming. Please help me fix this. Regards, Nicholas

Digital Line Distortion
Firstly, the problem... Ever since I installed and setup asterisk, I have had various problems, initially it was echo caused by the ISDN (isdn4linux) card I was using. So, I upgraded to the X101P from digium. I still had echo, so I figured it was also caused by the ATA186 (cisco) I was using. So, I upgraded again to the TDM40B quad FXS card. This solved pretty much all my problems, except

Newbie Questions . . .
Hello all. My company currently has an older Executone PBX system that we are outgrowing. Rather than wait until the last minute to make a hasty decision, I thought it would be a good idea to do some research and compare options first. My expertise is in computers and networking, and telephony systems are mostly foreign to me. What we currently have are 5 incoming POTS lines and 25

E100P works with PCI 3.3V and 5V?
Hi, I just bought the E100P from digium. It has both keys: 3.3V and 5V, so it would fit both, in a 5V-PCI slot and in a 3.3V PCI slot. Is it true, that I can plug it without destroying it in an ordenary 5V PCI slot? Roger.

TDM400P GroundStart Problems
Hello, I am having problems configuring a TDM400P 4 Port FXO card with groundstart signalling. The box has 2 X100P's, 1 TDM04B and 1 TDM40B. I can configure it for loopstart and it works, just not groundstart, which I need for this installation. What am I missing? Thanks! X100P in Australia
G'Day, I need from regarding using the X100P. Some are specific to Australia and I have been told in IRC there are already existing users in oz, so I would appreciate your input. 1) Is the X100P Australia telco approved? 2) I have setup asterisk with X100P and whenever I dial in I cannot get any callerid information. Is this standard behaviour? If not how have other australian users managed

T100P-E100P circuit board differences
Hi- Perhaps someone with an E100P in hand can answer this: I just received an E100P from Digium (I normally buy quad boards) I noticed that the circuit board says "T100P" on it, and I assume that the T100P and E100P both use the same circuit board. Can someone please confirm that their E100P says "T100P" on the artwork? Thanks Scott Scott M. Stingel Emerging Voice

[Q]: Dialin problems over E1 on a Digium E100P
Hi.... Apologies for the length of this, but any help would be greatly appreciated ;-)... I have installed and configured a Digium E100P on my Asterisk PBX and I have connected this to an 8 port E1 VoIP gateway on a Cisco 6509. There is also an external E1 link from our Telco plugged into one of the other ports on this gateway and this gateway is in turn registered with a Cisco CallManager
