Cisco 7905
Can anyone tell me the features of the Cisco 7905 with SIP? I mean things like number of lines, speakerphone, transfer buttons, etc. I've seen the Cisco material, but all it told me was how nifty it is and how wonderful the XML interface will be ;) Thanks, --Ernest

Printer errors
Hello all, Got SAMBA running on a linux 2.0.32 box, and all is well. Looked over the docs and set up my printer with the (what I think) are correct entries. Basically, what the default smb.conf has. Testparms says it o.k.! And I can print (lpr) locally. Windows sees both printcap entries (inkjet and psjet), but any attempt to pring to them errors out. I then added the print command =

Fwd:[Vocal] Question about Cisco IP hard phones
Interesting notes on the 79xx series. The 7920 is the wireless phone; not mentioned here. For a more complete guide to Cisco's phones, see: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheets_list.html The 7902 is the "very inexpensive" Cisco phone, and it looks like it will be SCCP (Skinny) only. Twiddling my thumbs here waiting for the chan_sccp to

I was thinking about getting one of these expansion ports: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheet0 9186a008008883d.html What are people using for receptionist phones that show all the extensions in

Cisco 7960 SIP + 7914
I found a few mentions of the 7914 being used with Asterisk, these all covered SCCP/skinny though. Does anyone know if the 7914 can even be used with SIP? If so, any pointers? Is it a services thing? Anyone get the operator (line/extension status) to work with it. Thanks for the help, Cisco doesn't even mention ANYTHING about SIP + the 7914. Matt

Cisco 7940G licensing with asterisk
Hi there, In Cisco web site http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheet09186a008008884a.html It says that regardless of the technology used you have to buy a licencse. Does the license apply to use the phone with asterisk, or, can i just buy the phone? Also, the phone does not requiere to use an AC adapter if used with PoE injectors/switches. Can non-Cisco PoE

Do I need a CH1 licence for Cisco Phones ?
I've got a question regarding Cisco IP Phones and licencing. When using a third party PBX like asterisk is a licence required for the Cisco phones ? Has anyone got anything in writing from Cisco to clarify this ? Eg can I just use CP-7961G or do I need CP-7961G-CH1 even though I'm not using Cisco Callmanager ? HYPERLINK

I've tried to avoid windows whenever possible because it is so difficult to understand and use, besides the bugs. I've been forced to it for income tax, however. Since so many customers of pan.zipcon.net use windows, I feel an obligation to have a better acquaintence with it. I have not as yet tried any builds just available binaries. I intend to write up instructions for novices in my

Newbie in Cisco Phone
Hello all I have used some low end cisco phones in the past and had no problem setting up SIP on it. But today, I have made a big mistake. Buying Cisco Conference phone without even looking whether it supports SIP on not. And yes it is the nice 7937G that I am talking about. Damn this is annoying. So wondering is there anything I can do to make it work with Asterisk or am I good to send back to

cisco 7970 sccp
Does anyone have the 7970 work with sccp? I have used the example configurations from the wiki. I can see that the phone is failing to retrieve the CTLSEP<MAC>.tlv file and then is able to retrieve the SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml file. The phone is hanging with the message "updating ctl". Thanks, John SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml: <device> <devicePool>

SIP Phone recommendation for Receptionist
Hi there, I've got an installation where there's 12 POTS line incoming into *, and am trying to get some insight as to which VoIP hard phone would be most suitable for this scenario. Most of the VoIP phones I've looked at only have 4-6 line presentations; is anyone aware of one that has more? I tried to get some info about Snom's Keypad 220 since it has loads of programmable

If you have been paying attention, you already know this, but this weekend I have spent time ironing out the various details with my chan_skinny code that has been out there, if you knew where to look. I believe I now have all basic features operational and am going to be working on getting the class 5 (hold, transfers, call waiting and caller*id, etc) operational in the comming week(s).

Need help selecting phones
I'm new to the asterisk world and have been playing with an asterisk server with 1 FXO card for a couple of weeks. Now I'm looking to start adding IP Desk Phones but I'm unable to come to a decision on what phones to use. I like to look of the Polycoms, but because we are not a "phone company" I can't see us getting reseller authorized for them. Shoretel has some nice

Orinoco 802.11b PC Card doesn't work on STABLE
Hi, I have Orinoco 802.11b PC Card from Proxim. I plugged it to pcmcia slot, but It doesn't work - no blinking LEDs, no wi0 in ifconfig. I have 7.1-PRERELEASE, laptop Prestigio Nobile 157. On NetBSD seems working, but NetBSD is not friendly with me. if_wi driver included in kernel. ----- dmesg Copyright (c) 1992-2008 The FreeBSD Project. Copyright (c) 1979, 1980, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989,
