SS7 E1 cards
Hi,
I'm looking into support for SS7 and I found an article
(http://www.openss7.com/news13022002.html) which says that OpenSS7
supports Linux Support Inc's T400P-SS7 Quad T1 and E400P-SS7 Quad E1 PCI
interface cards. It also says that Linux Support Inc is the primary
sponsor of Asterisk. However I cannot find these cards on the Asterisk
hardware page

g729 codec + kernel upgrade
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
After upgrading the kernel on an Asterisk box, asterisk segfaults on startup.
It seems like it's the g729 codec that causes this:

#1 0x4022686a in load_module () at codec_g729b.c:416
#2 0x08054794 in ast_load_resource (resource_name=0x80d1068 "codec_g729b.so")

OpenSS7 T400P-SS7 and Digium T400P
Hi,
I've posted this question on OpenSS7 mailing list but I didn't get a
clear answer. I have a system running asterisk using Digium T400P card. Can
this same card be used with OpenSS7 project to carry SS7 links? Is there any
difference between these two cards?

SS7 status report 2
Hi,
there are still some questions to be answered by OpenSS7.com
in order to decide, whether E400P-SS7 is a good choice for
the asterisk SS7 support.
In the meanwhile I'm also in negotiations with another
manufacturer (whose name I currently may not tell due to
a NDA) of SS7 hardware, who gets likely persuaded to offer
a cheap SS7-PCI-card which would be suitable for asterisk.

Status-info 1: Signalling C7 / SS7
Hi,
one month ago, I announced, that I will look at the openss7
project in order to use it together with asterisk.
It took a while for me to check the capabilities
of and around the project. Since the openss7 project consists
of only one person, and when there was just silence for a long
time in the project's mailing list, I doubted, whether
it was a good idea to consider using openss7.

What is an E400P-SS7??
Hi,
Is this card the same as the T410P, after all, it's made by Digium.
There's one prior reference on the mailint list[1] but it didn't answer
the question.
There was also an SS7 status report[2] last June but it's doesn't seem to
have lead anywhere either. There was post saying an SS7 release was
immenent last September[3], but then silence.
Any info anyone would like to

SS7 over Asterisk ?
Hello..
I have a customer who wants to connect 2 PBX's over IP..
The setup should look like this:
[PBX] <-- SS7 --> [Asterisk] <-- IAX --> [Asterisk] <-- SS7 --> [PBX]
Since there are no SS7 cards , I was thinking at a way of carrying the E1 data as bulk...Can I do that ? How ?
Is possible a scenario like this ? I'm thinking of IAX because I don't

Now that I've been unable to register 2 hardware SIP phones and one software

Who would use Asterisk SS7?
Hello. I am new to this forum. If this issue has been discussed already,
please inform me, but my STFW have indicated that it has not.
If SS7 were available on * would it make commercial sense to use it? There
are case studies on the web (courtesy of the Death Star :->) for ISPs with
10,000+ subscriber lines showing clear cost savings in transitioning from PRI
to SS7 controlled IMT. My

I'm having a problem with the following expression examples.

${value} is 13 in both examples above. First extension evaluates to 1 while
second evaluates to 0 even though it's the same

Hi,
I was just measuring the bitrates of a couple of codecs via iax. I'm getting
much higher numbers than expected, so maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Measured with iptraf, values displayed are:

gsm: 52 kbps (13 kpbs)
alaw: 154 kbps (?)
speex: 57 kpbs (24 kpbs)

Configuring spans
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
No matter what I configure my spans at (on a E400P) ztcfg -v always shows:
SPAN x: D4/ AMI Build-out: 0 db (CSU)/0-133 feet (DSX-1)
Currently I've configured my spans as "ccs,hdb3,crc4", so shouldn't D4/AMI be
showing "ccs/hdb3" instead?

Hi,
When congestion doesn't do anything on a zaptel channel, would it be because

I'm attempting to hook up the E400P card to a Siemens ISDN module.
I have no knowledge of these Siemens products, so I'm acting on what I've been

The Siemens side is configured to "ISDN30: ECMA QSIG". The Siemens manual
states the card provides 30 ISDN B-channels which can be used for trunking or

Has anyone tried to get dialogic ss7 trunking to work

I did some googling but nothing helpful turned up...
Could a person get an intel dialogic and get * to see it

And use it for incoming and outgoing trunk access?

Transfer

Hi,
As I've been unable to get app_transfer to work, could someone explain how it
is supposed to work?
Currently I have two Asterisk boxes. A call comes in via zaptel to ast1. ast1
dials ast2 using iax2 and gets instructed to transfer the call to a different
extension. iax2 debug shows that a transfer cmd is sent to ast1, but nothing
happens
