Very bad echo (appears that...)
The echo canceller algorithms aren't doing anything. We get extreme echo during the conversation, it appears even before the call connects, the echo is there... This only happens with SIP to/from WCFXO (analog POTS). Looking at the Zaptel configuration: /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf: echocancel=yes echocancelwhenbridged=yes rxgain=0.8 txgain=0.8 (although none of the above options

Cisco 7960 Message Light on multiple phones
Here is what I am attempting to do (which works well on Cisco Call Manger). I have some 7960's that have multiple lines on them. The second line specifically is a "helpdesk" line that is shared among multiple phones. Here is how I am making that line ring on multiple phones, maybe you have other suggestions: exten => 135,1,Dial(SIP/135@100&SIP/135@101,20,rt) So this

dynamic queue channels
Hi, I'm trying to build a call center application that allows attendants to come in the morning and dial a certain extension to make their extension available. I wouldn't like to use the AgentLogin app because their line would need to stay off-hook (is this correct?) Is there any SET channel status command that would allow me to do something like this? MWI light on Cisco Phones
Hi all, I'm having sudden MWI problems. Everything else on the phone works fine though. I have three Cisco 7940s. Asterisk server is behind a firewall running NAT. (192.168.1.202/24) Phone #1 - On the same subnet 192.168.1.250. Everything works great. Phone #2 - On a different subnet, 192.168.2.0/24. Everything works fine except the MWI. It never comes on. This is over an IPSEC VPN, but

Command to light MWI on 7940 /7960
We have several agents on queues, and want to indicate to them that they are logged in or logged out. We have tried several different ways, from changing the screen to presenting different service menus, but cannot get anything to be "in their face" (their words, not mine). One of our team has suggested, as the agents do not have voicemail, is to use the MWI on the 7940 phones to

Caller-ID name lookup via anywho.com
Hey all, Did I see something on here about using an AGI script to do reverse lookups via anywho.com? I have a PRI that only gets caller-id number and no Alpha. TIA, -- Daniel Jimenez <djimenez[at]pobox[dot]com>

Cisco Message Waiting Indicator
Hi, I have just upgraded my Cisco 7960 phone to SIP firmware today and I have to say it's working great with Asterisk. At work (which uses Cisco Call Manager), when a voicemail is recieved the read light remains lit until the voicemail is retrieved. Is there any way to achieve the same effect with Asterisk ? Thanks, Paul. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

How do you turn on the 7960 msg waiting light?

Cisco 7940/7960 SIP functionality questions
Hello, I'm considering using Asterisk with some type of Cisco phone, and currently considering either the 7940 or 7960 because of its more-complete functionality (compared to the 7905). I'm currently wondering: Do all the expected functions (transfer, conference, voice mail, message waiting indicator, etc.) work normally with Asterisk over SIP? What caveats are known about using

Repost: System crash on loading gdm revisited
Hello - I never heard back on this and continue to experience this bug. Can someone help me to locate the patch for this so that I can be sure it's included in my source? It's not happening on every boot, but about every other or third. And just as described in the bug report (the boot works OK, but at the end rather than GDM starting nicely, I get a "fuzzy" screen and the

More Success on the Cisco 7920 and SCCP !!!!!
Hi All, have some decent success on the 7920 "activation" in Asterisk. Latest status: chan_skinny does NOT work with 7920 chan_sccp does WORK with 7920 (!!) however: to remove coredumping the chan_sccp just comment out the MWI (messagewaitingindicator), then it compiles fine. Then change sccp_helper.c: return "P0060302" instead of the old value. and voila: Phone is

Message Waiting Indicator Bugs?
I have had several cases where the message waiting indicator was stuck in the on state with Cisco 7960 SIP phones. Here are the two cases: 1. Single extension that mapped to a single voice mailbox. Restarting Asterisk or getting a new voicemail then clearing it fixed the problem. 2. Three SIP extensions that mapped to a single voice mailbox. Getting a new voicemail and then clearing it

Message Indicator Light
I have a quick question... In the previous thread http://www.marko.net/asterisk/archives/0210/0306.html it is mentioned Mark added support for MWI to the chan_zap. Is this in the zapata.conf and if so, if stutter is turned on then the MWI is turned on with it? Geoff
