S100U crashing server
Hi, I'm trying to get an S100U that came as part of the dev kit light working. I have tried compiled EHCI as modules or directly into the kernel but the same problem happens both times: I connect the S100U and run modprobe wcusb - initially nothing happens (great - no errors, etc). Fairly soon the server will die. It seem to be related to communications with the S100U. For example if I

S100U / wcusb Zaptel driver / Crash / Kernel problem maybe?
Hi Everyone, I've been using Asterisk now for a few months for my small office (which is mostly just me while other guys are always on the road so we rely heavily on telephones) - I'm very excited with Asterisk as it can do everything I've ever wanted to do with a PBX. I'm having a problem with an S100U USB --> Telephone interface. I haven't actually made it work yet

Having problems with S100U
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've tested the S100U unit in two different computers both with different USB subsystems. The one it worked the best in used the usb-uhci USB driver. The other system uses the usb-ohci USB driver. To make sure it was not the installation, I used the same hard drive that had asterisk in both systems. And I moved the X101P and S100U between both

VERY bad sound on S100U -> X100P calls, and caller id problems ...
Hi folks! I'm using an X100P (connected to my phone line) and an S100U, and when I calls out from the phone connected to the S100U it is a very bad sound quality, it "pops" and "jitters" a lot. But internal calls from for example a SIP client to the phone on the S100U sounds good. Calls from an SIP client to the outside world using the X100P also works good! My second

S100U == DEAD !
We have a S100U which we were using as our sole internal phone extension. Today it died. Picking up the phone now results in a brief dialtone followed by bursts of random static and crackling noises and then a second or two of fast-busy followed by silence and more crackling noises. I've tried the hardware attached to a couple of different machines as well as a couple of different phones.

S100U USB FXS problem
After not having time to do anything with Asterisk for 2-3 months, I finally got a chance to get back into it. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that the S100U USB device that I purchased as part of the Developer's Kit (LITE) isn't working right. When I pick up the handset, all I hear is some either some low volume static or nothing at all. Only twice in the last week have I been

S100U on RH9
Hi, I have been trying to figure out why the S100U is not performing very well on RH9.. Here is my thinking..( may be totally wide of the mark but here goes anyway) I remember reading somwhere that the sound system used by RH has changed... Does the S100U not depend on the sound subsystem?? So what I think is that the sound subsystem in RH9 and the S100U are not happy working together.. Does

Actiontec's Internet Phone Wizard and Digium's S100U
Hi, There is someone on this list who has the specification for the IPW driver? I want to provide full support for it in DIAX Phone, but Actiontec does not answer to my mails. There is any windows driver available for the Digium's S100U USB interface? Anyone knows if it can provide full functionality for the connected phone, like callerid, callwaiting callerid, message indication, ring,

S100U hissing noise..
Hi, I have got a hissing/humming noise on my handset that is connected to the S100U USB device.. I was running a CVS version of * that was about 2 to 3 weeks old and had perfect quality.. But that HDD died on me so I reinstalled and used the latest CVS, now I have this sound that is best describes as a similar sound to the noise a cpu fan makes.. Like a high piched hissing noise.. Any one

Any special kernel patches for good S100U performance?
Hi, I've added an S100U to my * setup. I've tried it using both uhci and usb-uhci USB driver modules. I both cases the audio is occasionally glitchy. In addition, usb-uhci complains Apr 18 19:06:21 bob kernel: usb-uhci.c: iso_find_start: gap in seamless isochronous scheduling uhci.o doesn't log this error, but the glitches still occur. Perhaps there are some latency patches or

Updated iaxComm binaries available for WinXP, Red Hat 9.0
iaxComm is a cross-platform IAX2 softphone available for Win32 and Linux. SPA-3000 is translating vocal sounds into DTMF
I'm sure there must be a setting I'm missing somewhere, so I thought I might was well ask here. Conversations are punctuated by sudden replacement of a given syllable or so of conversation with a DTMF tone. I would hope perhaps there's some kind of setting that has to do with the way it detects inband DTMF? I'm pretty sure it's an artifact of this particular ATA; my

Working example of ALERT_INFO with Cisco ATAs?
I am wondering if there are any tricks getting the Cisco ATAs to do "distinctive rings" via the ALERT_INFO variable? I have seen some contradictory information in the Wiki, and I tried the example there. I then sniffed the connection between the server and the ATA and didn't see the header sent like it is "supposed" to be. If someone out there has a handle on this and

S100U and TigerJet
Hi all, this is another post about this problem. I installed from scratch a new Suse Linux 10.0, with latest stable asterisk. Moreover I add the lines to /etc/udev/rules.d/50-udev.rules, in order to let the driver create the /dev/zap....... When I plug into usb port my TigerJet adapter, I see on /var/log/messages Feb 24 14:55:02 srvlnx05 kernel: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using

VONAGE or IP Dialtone
The Vonage service is offered with a SIP Cisco ATA device for connection to an analog phone. Is it possible to connect the Vonage service directly to the Asterisk PBX bypassing the ATA and FXO card? Are there other services that offer this capability or something similar to IP dialtone? Thanks Kevin -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Exceptionally long queue length queuing . . . .
I wonder if anyone out there has a perspective on this. There are a welter of tickets out there on the matter, most of them closed. This problem began for me over a year ago, and continues up to the latest versions I've installed (1.6.2.13). It happens randomly, and the suggestion on one of the bug tracker tickets that it is instigated by a small network leg looks to be on point to me,

Configuration for ATA186 behind a NAT?
I wonder if someone out there could loan me a peek at their sip.conf? I have conflicting advice, for instance, about whether or not to use "nat=1" and also whether or not the ATA should be registering with the instance of asterisk it is going to be using to dial out. Thanks in advance. B.

Looking for good IAX ATA
I've been told by someone at Digium that they discontinued the IAXy ATA. I was buying the X100P IAX ATA for some time until even they discontinued that. I am looking for a new ATA that does IAX2 and supports the following codecs: GSM, Speex, G711 Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd prefer to stick with IAX protocol because it is easier to use working with NAT and SIP/NAT is
