who am i
I don't think this is a problem with su. The same occurs when running login
in a shell, then logging out. I've seen this bug in FreeBSD since early 4.x,
I guess I just never bothered to mention it, thinking someone would notice
and fix it. It has certainly scared me a few times, it would be nice if it
was corrected.
Thanks.

OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3, several weird terminal problems
I compiled OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3 (or at least
"uname -a"'s output of 4.0.3.0 suggests v4.3, I'm not positive).
I was able to compile zlib (1.1.4) and openssl (0.9.7a) with little
trouble.
OpenSSH took hand-hacking the includes.h file as follows:
diff -cr openssh-3.6.1p1/includes.h openssh-3.6.1p1-customized/includes.h

Samba KDC not running
Hi,
I have an issues that involves KDC, it is quite complex so I'll try to
be really specific.
I was running Samba42 with a secondary server replicating all was
working fine. After we upgrade to Samba43 we start with the issues:
1. Replication wasn't working anymore error (WERR_LOGON_FAILURE)
2. Kerberos is also broken. On the Primary DC wouldn't allow me to to a

Slave socket problem again
Hello!
I have been using backgroundrb for a small project. My worker task is
run every minute, checks the processing queue in data-base and execute
the business method from Rails if something is to be done.
Unfortunately I was hit by the problem of backgroundrb server dying
after some runs. The exception is:
20070531-11:06:05 (31816) Starting worker: s_e_work sql_exe

samba3+openldap:Problem during the LDAP search
Hi,
I'm trying to use samba3+openldap as our PDC.
I installed the server using CentOS4.4 single service CD and then use yum
install openldap-servers to install openldap server.
I already ran "smbpasswd -w secret".
When I invoked "smbpasswd -a root" the following error showed up:
[root@localhost samba]# smbpasswd -a root

ssh not using priv port if target prot not priv
The openSSH ssh command appears to not use a source privileged port
(no matter what the options/configs) if the target port
isn't a privileged port.
For example:
ssh -p 22222 foo.ucla.edu
would never try to connect from a privileged port. Even with
useprivilegedport=yes. This disallows .shosts RSA host authentication
without a password.
This breaks compatability with ssh-1.2.27 and

Easily changing directory where program files should be installed to by default?
Dear Wine users,
installing a Windows program the program?s installer should look up some
registry entry(?) (ProgramFiles [2]) what folder to use to install the
program files into. For Englisch installations this is normally `C:
\Program Files` in my home directory.
I have small space left in my home directory, so I would like to install
the program files in a different location, for example

Change names easily...
How can I change a name of controller or model all together.. It turns
out to be a big hassle because names are important in linking source
codes (e.g., model names are linked with database structure and
controller are linked with views).

how to easily access S-PLUS data sets in R?
Dear R-help colleagues,
Greetings! I'm interested in using some of the data sets from S-PLUS in
a class that I'm teaching on R. Our university has a license for
S-PLUS, and I recognize that data sets from S-PLUS can be individually
exported from S-PLUS and then imported into R.
Is there a more straightforward way to do this? For instance, are the
data sets from S-PLUS freely
