beginner question: how do I figure out why an app won't start? (RubyMine)
I''m building a new Ruby app with RubyMine. I built a basic app (just a
homepage) and it is running fine. Next step is to get the app talking
to MongoDb. I''m using this tutorial:
http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Rails+3+-+Getting+Started
also tried this one: https://github.com/RailsApps/rails3-mongoid-devise
The problem is, after running through the tutorial and starting my

considering getting a licence for Rubymine which is 99$ I think. But I don''t
know whether it''s really better than Netbeans. My focus is on BDD with
cucumber, Rspec and Shoulda. Can anyone tell me his/her experience concering

wxruby with wxglade?
Hi
I''ve been trying to find out how to use wxglade with ruby in google, but I
haven''t been able to find anything on the topic so far, so I was wondering
what do you guys use instead? I mean you don''t really hand code all the gui
stuff do you, you must have some visual gui designer available?
I''m new to Gui so please be kind!
Thanks

Ruby IDE with wxRuby
Hello All,
There seems to have been a lot of interest in getting wxScintilla
incorperated, and I think most of us who want it, want it so we can
create an editor, so to avoid multiple projects comming out with the
same goal (Not really that bad of a problem....), I''m going to kick
start this, and ask that anyone interested in developing a Editor with
wxRuby and wxScintilla, to send

XP-style widgets in wxruby
Just to share a tip - if you''re using wxruby on Windows XP, you can have
wxruby display widgets in the XP GUI style (rounded buttons and tabs,
hover effects on button etc) - if you happen to like it.
Create an XML file called ruby.exe.manifest similar to the attached in
the same directory as your ruby.exe (Something like c:/ruby/bin/). You
might want to edit the version number - but

New to wxruby
Sorry if this is a repost for those of you who are also on the wxusers

I am interested in producing graphical interface elements, like those:

Hi !
I''m new to this mailing list !
I''m just beginning to learn ruby programmation, ( so far mainly coded php
web apps, and math algorithms with Caml ), so i''m a noob about libraries,
toolkits, etc ....
I wondered what does the end user need to run wxruby applications ?
_ On Windows, he''ll need the ruby interpreter ( such as the one click ruby

Debug and Release builds of the wxRuby Windows Installer
Ok, I now have both debug and release build installers for wxRuby 0.2 on
windows. As I said in my earlier emails these are designed to install on top
of Andy Hunt''s one-click Ruby Installer for Windows (version 1.8.0).
In the start menu I create a wxRuby group with shortcuts to run the sample
apps and to display "wxRuby Help" (which is just a freshly updated version

New wxruby mailing list
Greetings all,
I have created a new wxruby-development mailing list, which should now
be used for discussions about wxruby internals, development process, and
other issues that would not be of interest to someone who simply wants
to use wxruby to get their job done.
The wxruby-users list will continue to be the best place to report
problems with wxruby, including problems building,

wxRuby and other GUI toolkits
So, having subscribed recently to the ruby-talk mailing list, I''ve
noticed that wxruby doesn''t seem to have the "respect" of other GUI
libraries. I know GUI-library preference is a holy war almost up there
with vi versus emacs, but since I''m a wxruby developer, I''d like to know
what people "don''t" like about wxruby. Otherwise,
