Problems building package vignette: Sweave requires multiple passes to build document.
Dear R-devel, Question: How can I get Sweave to recognize that the \thebibliography section is already created and generate the vignette pdf with a single pass? Or is there a way to let R CMD build know that Sweave needs to be run twice? If (1) is not possible, any suggestions how to auto-generate a crude generic bibtex .bib file from my existing document? Background: I maintain

prop.test() references
Dear R-help, I'm using prop.test() to compute a confidence interval for a proportion under R version 2.4.1, as in: prop.test(x = 340, n = 400)$conf [1] 0.8103309 0.8827749 I have two questions: 1) from the source code my understanding is that the confidence interval is computed according to Wilson, E.B. (1927) Probable inference, the law of succession, and statistical inference. J. Am.

[Ajax on Rails]How to pass an object via param
I''m trying to pass an object as a parameter on a link_to_remote. What I do is pretty simple: link_to_remote ''Insert subquestion'', :url => {:action => ''add_subquestion'', :question => @question}, :update => '''', :method => :get But, obviously, what I get is a string which has the address of the object. Can I

u32 hash-es ?
hi I would like to ask is the following config correct for what I want to achieve ... Scenario: I have 3 networks 192.168.12.0/24, 192.168.48.0/24, 192.168.56.0/24 and most of the users use 1 IP, some of them more... If I make flat u32-filter search the box will make aprox/max 3 * 256 = 768 checks for every IP, so i''m deciding to deploy u32 hashes.. Here is the config I think to use

Testing for Significance Between Logistic Regressions
This is more of a statistics question with implementation implications. I have used R to calculate logistic regressions for various characterstics. I would now like to verify that the difference between a particular subset is significantly different from the logistic regression of the entire set. Example. I have a logistic regression containing every running back drafted between 1980-2000. I

[PATCHv2] virtio-spec: virtio network device multiqueue support
At Jason's request, I am trying to help finalize the spec for the new multiqueue feature. Changes from Jason's rfc: - reserved vq 3: this makes all rx vqs even and tx vqs odd, which looks nicer to me. - documented packet steering, added a generalized steering programming command. Current modes are single queue and host driven multiqueue, but I envision support for guest driven

ERb question with xml
In the rdoc there''s an example: xml.em { xml.b("emp & bold") } Which produces: <em><b>emph &amp; bold</b></em> But what if I wanted to nest tags with text, i.e.: <em>just emph and <b>emph &amp; bold</b></em> ? I''ve messed around with it and have only gotten bizzare results or nothing displayed at all -

[PATCH] virtio-balloon spec: rework VIRTIO_BALLOON_F_MUST_TELL_HOST feature, support silent deflation
The idea of the VIRTIO_BALLOON_F_MUST_TELL_HOST feature is to let drivers skip usage of the deflate queue when leaking the balloon ("silent deflation"). Guests may benefit from silent deflate by aggressively inflating the balloon; they know that they will be able to use ballooned pages without issuing a (blocking) request to the device. The problem is that this feature is a
