SQL insert?
Hi,
I want to log some informations about a mail in a mysql database when the
mail is saved to inbox (for a groupware). I use Dovecot 1.2.16 and the log
message "msgid=<xxx>: saved mail to inbox" is generated in deliver.c. I
find all the needed data in that file. But I'am not sure how to use the
functions in sql-api.h or sql-api-private.h to send a simple SQL insert
statement

pam authentication error
Hi all,
I compiled Dovecot 1.2.16 (on Debian 5/lenny) and followed the quick
configuration guide (wiki.dovecot.org/QuickConfiguration). I just need
plaintext authentication. After starting Dovecot I get "Last died with
error" and in var/log/mail.err:
Nov 23 15:06:55 debian dovecot: auth(default): Fatal: Support not compiled
in for passdb driver 'pam'

Blank lines in mailboxes
Hello,
we use dovecot on a regular basis. Sometimes I end up with a user
telling me he does not get mail. When I look after the problem,
I always find leading blank lines in the mbox file. We are using postfix
with dovecot and amavisd as spam scanner. Amavisd never accesses the
mbox files directly so this can be ruled out. I suspected procmail but
now it happened also with accounts where no

Upgrade from 2.0. to 2.2
Hello, we have a centos 6 server running dovecot 2.0 provided with the
OS, currently 2.0.9. We would like to upgrade to the 2.2.19 package
provided by the mailserver.guru repo. I read the upgrading docs for 2.1
and 2.2 and found the following issues:
2.0 - 2.1:
- define namespace inbox or delete 15-mailboxes.conf (we do not "care
about special use mailboxes")
- plugins and UTF-8: we

Monitoring ssh logins/logouts
Hello,
we are trying to monitor ssh logins on security-critical machines with a
script that scans logfiles for the relevant entries.
A problem ist that when the ssh connection is closed by a network
interruption or by closing the window with the ssh client, we do not
find a corresponding entry in the logs. "last" does not show this
information either, at least on our systems which

Have you looked at SOGo for a groupware option?

Email/GroupWare Suite
Just wanted to get some thoughts from the list.....
We are a public k-12 school and are looking to migrate to a groupware
style system for out staff to collaborate better. Currently we are using
Squirrelmail/postfix for email. Does anyone have any
recommendations/opinions. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi, sorry for top post
but short answer is ,there is no exchange without outlook, that is what
makes exchange a good "groupware solution", on windows only.

status of dir_index in 2.4 kernels ?
Hi,
I stumbled on the dir_index option of recent ext2 implementation which
would be interesting for our mailservers (running dovecot with maildir)
and found out that the newer ext2progs are able to cope with it; the 2.6
kernels do also but for the 2.4 kernels I still require a patch. Is that
correct? Which patch would be the correct one to apply to the current
2.4.27 kernel ? Can anybody

Recommended Groupware?
Hi,
is there a recommended groupware (email + calendar + address book +
syncing with mobile devices) on top of an existing dovecot installation?
Most existing commercially supported groupwares come with their own mail
storage engine. I would like to keep dovecot as the email storage engine
because of the maildir format which greatly helps with backup & restore.

Dovecot and kmail IMAP resources
For some time now I have been trying to get IMAP resources working on KMail.
I have followed the docs from kde, but they tell how to configure cyrus IMAP,
so I've had to learn as I went along.
After a lot of help from the postfix list I now have a working sasl. The
ability of the user 'groupware' to log in with PLAIN has been checked in a
telnet session. Everything in KMail has

samba groupware integration
Hi,
I'd like to install a groupware server in our institute and looking for
a software, which connects samba and the groupware server, for example
for authentication (may be LDAP) and (more importent) to see the samba
shares (user and groups) in the groupware web-front-end. I've talked
this week to the open-xchange people at CeBit, and if I understud them
right, the samba integration is

Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP?
Good evening from Singapore,
Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP? Or do I need 2 static public IP addresses at the minimum? With Exchange 2016 groupware taking up HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, POP3, POP3S, SMTP, and SMTP/S ports, I personally don't think I can deploy cPanel behind the same public IP as

Dear Richard Grainger,
I am grateful for your reply and guidance.
After reading the following article at nginx.com, I realize that I should use a reverse proxy instead of a load balancer.

looking for alternative to SME & Clark Connect
Hi all,
I'm looking for a (preferably free) alternative to SME / Clark Connect.
I basically need the following:
- firewall
- nat
- VPN
- bandwidth limiting / monitoring
- email (SMTP / POP3 / IMAP) & groupware
- file & printer sharing
- RAID support
- if possible fail-over / high availability support.
I need to support about 15 - 30 (some part time) students, so I would
like to keep
