Setting up a windows system for rcpp
I am running into a wall getting my system to work with rcpp and inline. Following Dirk's advice on stackoverflow, I hope someone is able to help me. My steps were to install MinGW 32 bit first, then installing Rtools, I disabled MinGW's entry in the PATH. I am trying to get the following code to work: library(Rcpp) library(inline) body <- ' NumericVector xx(x); return wrap(

Crash of latticeExtra graph with Adobe Acro Pro/Reader/Windows/ during print only (display ok).
I created a report with Sweave today, that displayed perfectly on screen, but crashed both Adobe Pro 9.3.1 and Adobe Reader 9.0 on Windows 7. Output with Foxit Reader was flawless. I was able to reproduce a "minimal" example, which is not really minimal but the smallest I could get after 2 hours of wasting paper. Required: latticeExtra calling both panel.xyplot(...) # both

+ and - in RODBC : no longer considered factors
I have a large Sweave report that reads data from a database file. Some of the columns are 1-character strings containing only +, - or NA. An example for such a table is shown below, and can be downloaded for easier testing from http://www.menne-biomed.de/uni/test.zip (For security reasons, the file is zipped) table test hp hp1 + a - + library(RODBC) channel =

How to prevent inclusion of intercept in lme with interaction
Dear friends of lme, After so many year with lme, I feel ashamed that I cannot get this to work. Maybe it's a syntax problem, but possibly a lack of understanding. We have growth curves of new dental bone that can well be modeled by a linear growth curve, for two different treatments and several subjects as random parameter. By definition, newbone is zero at t=0, so I tried to force the

Locale problem with umlauts in factor levels in 2.7.0 (patched) from grid or lattice
With 2.7.0 patched (not tested with 2.0.0), I get an error message in a program that ran correctly in R 2.6.2 when the grouping factor of a stripplot contains an Umlaut: I am aware that there are a few locale-changes in R 2.7.0, but I could not easily locate who's at fault Dieter library(lattice) dt = data.frame(x=rnorm(100),y=1:100,levs= as.factor(c("Gru","Gr?")))

invalid operands of types ‘SEXPREC*’ and ‘R_len_t’ to binary ‘operator/’ with Rcpp.
Dear R-Developers, I just started learning how to use Rcpp. Earlier while using it, I encountered an error as shown below: file74d8254b96d4.cpp: In function ‘Rcpp::NumericVector foo(Rcpp::NumericVector, Rcpp::NumericVector, Rcpp::NumericVector, Rcpp::Function, Rcpp::Function)’: file74d8254b96d4.cpp:10: error: invalid operands of types ‘SEXPREC*’ and ‘R_len_t’ to binary ‘operator/’ make: ***

Error using Rcpp under windows xp
Hi, I am a newbie to Rcpp packages, and got problems in having basic set-ups for Rcpp under windows xp. Here is the list I have done. 1) installed Rtools and have no problem in compiling .c file. 2) installed Rcpp packages 3) set enviroment variables 'path' to make C:\Program Files\R\R-2.12.0\library\Rcpp\include\ searchable The sample C++ code I used is from the original website:

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems

However search for "Rcpp calling C++ functions from R" gives a lot of result but I think some of them are outdated and others don't agree with each other. Can you point to a specific good on-line guide for me? Regards

Error using Rcpp
Hi, Im not sure if this is the right place to post this. I am using Xubuntu Karmic Koala and am trying to use the Rcpp package. I am testing it using a simple code that takes in a vector and adds 1 to each element: #include <Rcpp.h> // This file takes in a vector and adds one to each entry RcppExport SEXP addone(SEXP vec){ // create a local copy of vec Rcpp::NumericVector

Require of gWidgetsRGtk2 fails: RGtk2.dll can't be found, but it's there
Dear list, I've been trying to get gWidgets/gWidgetsRGtk2 to run every other month for a while, but somehow I simply can't figure out what's going wrong. I tried several distributions of the GTK runtime environment for Windows (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gladewin32/gtk-2.12.9-win32-1.exe as described in the package's vignette,

But I though it was a developers of the rcpp-package. So it is ok

Saving Rcpp Objects for Future Use
Hello, I have recently been doing some research regarding how to successfully save and load Rcpp Objects ( objects from modules ) for future use, but with little success. For example, to use the example package (from package skeleton) in Rcpp: >library(Rcpp) >Rcpp.package.skeleton("rdevelhelp", module=TRUE) ... > q() // install rdevelhelp using R CMD INSTALL // load new R

Trouble installing Rcpp on AIX - missing "execinfo.h"
Greetings, When I try "install.packages('Rcpp')" it fails when compiling api.cpp (line 39). This is Rcpp 0.11.3. I searched my filesystem, and indeed I do not have execinfo.h anywhere. After some effort, I got R build on AIX. Now I am trying to build the packages I need. Rcpp is crucial. I first build R with the native IBM XL compilers, and Rcpp wouldn't build. That was

Export a function from RCPP in R of type double
Hello to everyone I have written a small c++ function of type double function(double,double); and i want to export it in R using RCPP. After some trials i have realized that the only way i could do it working is to declare the function as void function (double x, double y, double result) and pass the result with RCPP Can you please tell me if this is the only way out? And if this is the case how

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems
I would go to the source, in this case Dirk Eddelbuettel's (I hope I spelled it correctly) documentation for Rcpp: http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com/code/rcpp/Rcpp-attributes.pdf Note that you need to do sourceCpp("logistic_map.cpp") in R instead of building and dyn.load()-ing the object. RInside, rcpp compilation problem
I have spent some hours browsing the RInside and rcpp documentation, lots of it; but ... as a programmer of C++ since 1990, on both Windows and Unix ... ( Solaris and Ubuntu, and Mandrake/Mandrivo Linux); I see a minor problem ...... Where is the rcpp.h header file?? The below code fails to compile as the RInside.h header file references the rcpp.h header file, which is not included with

Getting Rcpp SEXP data in C++
Friends I am looking at Rcpp and I am a bit stuck on a simple matter. (I am calling R from c++, if there is a better way...) Given this simple example using the TTR package and the SMA function which returns a simple moving average.... Rcpp::NumericVector rv; for(int i = 0; i < 100; i++){ rv.push_back(rand()); } Rcpp::Environment TTR("package:TTR");
