cannot replace X with Y: devices have different sector alignment
Well this is a new one.... Illumos/Openindiana let me add a device as a hot spare that evidently has a different sector alignment than all of the other drives in the array. So now I''m at the point that I /need/ a hot spare and it doesn''t look like I have it. And, worse, the other spares I have are all the same model as said hot spare. Is there anything I can do with this or

Color of CI bars in Hmisc::Dotplot()
Dear R-helpers, (1) I can't figure out how to tell Dotplot that I want the colors of the CI bars to be the same as the colors of the dots. For example: t2a.ci3 <- data.frame(est = c(7, 20, 75), lower = c(-9, 0.5, 42), upper = c(22, 39, 109)) mypal <- c('skyblue3', 'mistyrose3') condNames <- c('noise', 'horn', 'marimba') Dotplot(1:2 ~

Problem with colors in contour plot
Dear R users, I have a 51 by 51 matrix of p-values (named as pvalue_MA). I want to present graphically this matrix in a plot (filled contour plot) where both axes represent probabilities. I have also added a grid in this plot. I want to highlight in white the cells of the grid that represent p-values smaller than the (common) significance threshold, 0.05. The code from this plot is colored in

RSEIS could you help
I have dissolved oxygen traces that are continuous (fifteen minutes) for two years (save for a couple of days, weeks, or minutes there depending on the perogative of the river). These traces are spaced out by river mile. I have figured out how to prepare data as to the sunspot example, but I can not figure out how to get multiple traces into the prepSEIS function and this is the warning that I

Calculating distance between longitude, latitude of 2 points
Hi all, I would like to know a way of calculating the distance between 2 points when I already have the longitude and latitude of the points. For example : Point 1 : 52? 9'54.00"N 4?25'8.40"E Point 2 : 52?27'46.80"N 4?33'18.00"E Distance between point 1 and point in km .... Is there any functions already available for this ? Any help will be much

gplot heatmaps: clustering according to rowsidecolors + key.xtickfun
Hi there, I have two questions about heatmap.2 in gplot. My input is a simple square matrix with numeric values between 75 and 100 (it is a similarity matrix based on bacterial DNA sequences). 1. I can sort my input matrix into categories with rowsidecolors (in this case, very conveniently by bacterial taxa). I do a clustering and reordering of my matrix by Rowv=TRUE (and

matrix cross product in R different from cross product in Matlab
Hi all, I have been searching all sorts of documentation, reference cards, cheat sheets but can't find why R's crossprod(A, B) which is identical to A%*%B does not produce the same as Matlabs cross(A, B) Supposedly both calculate the cross product, and say so, or where do I go wrong? R is only doing sums in the crossprod however, as indicated by (z <- crossprod(1:4)) # = sum(1 +
