Folks,
Several of you have received rather blunt emails from me when you sent
me an off-list question or have continued an on-list thread off-list.
It''s not that I''m trying to be a jerk but please consider:
- There have now been over 50,000 downloads of Shorewall.
- There are over 1,000 subscribers to this list.
Assuming that each person downloading Shorewall has downloaded four
times, there are 12,500 regular Shorewall users. Now suppose that each
of those persons sends me one personal email per year.
12,500 / 365 = 34.5
That means that for just one email per user per year, I would have to
answer over 34 emails per day every day of the year! And every question
that I answer off-list only benefits one person.
So I''m asking all of you to please keep your questions on-list.
