[Shorewall-devel] Shorewall FAQ Wiki Online, nearly complete...
Hello, Mike Noyes and myself have populated http://wiki.rettc.com with the shorewall FAQ. This wiki is running MediaWiki, http://www.mediawiki.org. Currently, a couple items are not complete. I have just begun a heavy semester of mathematics/physics studies, and do not have much time to give to this. But, it is online, and seems to be stable. I will keep an eye out for abuse, and limit access or shut it down if there are any serious activities. Currently, Mike and myself have sysop rights, if anyone else feels they need such rights, please email me. If anyone could help complete this wiki that would be grand. So, if Tom and whoever else might be interested would take a look at it, and give the go ahead (after finalization of course), or give some more direction to format, completeness, modifications, etc, I would appreciate it. Really, I would like to get this online, and public, to see how a wiki evolves, or becomes extinct. Hopefully, it shows itself to be helpful and feasible, hopefully not useless and insecure/a headache. Bottom line, a little help, and Tom''s input, and then a post to shorewall-users and/or shorewall newbies can be made. Thanks, Alex Martin http://www.rettc.com

Hmm. This seems to work: http://wiki.rettc.com/wiki.phtml?title=Wiki_Shorewall_FAQ I came across some "url beautification" notes using mod_rewrite, just so that linking is nicer. I will look into this again. If this wiki faq is sucessful, I will move it into its own virtual host. Let me know if/when you post a link so that I may keep an eye on things. It''s saving the session id in the url. Look at your session.save_path with phpinfo. What version IE? I am using IE 6.0.2800.1106IC no problems. (win2000server) Mozilla 1.6 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113) no problems. Can you send me the source of the garbage page? I have no xp machines to test with. I will make sure the html output is fully valid. -Alex> > Just took a look at the wiki using IE on Windows XP -- the bottom half of > the initial page is totally unreadable. > > -Tom > -- > Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool > Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net > Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net

I added "session.use_only_cookies = 1" to the file below as well. My php.ini looks like this: ## snip [Session] ; Handler used to store/retrieve data. session.save_handler = files ; Argument passed to save_handler. In the case of files, this is the path ; where data files are stored. Note: Windows users have to change this ; variable in order to use PHP''s session functions. session.save_path = /tmp ; Whether to use cookies. session.use_cookies = 1 ## snip Mike Noyes wrote:> On Sat, 2004-01-17 at 17:56, Mike Noyes wrote: > >>>&PHPSESSID=f86eaf2003e017186f737c8d6281111e >> >>It looks like you have php.ini setup incorrectly. Ok. If you deny the cookie that the site tries to set, then the sessionid is included in the anchors. If you accept the cookie, the urls do not have a sessionid. I think this is reasonable behavior, considering as well that linking does not require the sessionid. Maybe Tom doesn''t like cookies ;) Tom Eastep wrote:> On Sat, 17 Jan 2004, Alex Martin wrote: > > >>Last chance for comments...
