Hi all, I am currently facing an issue with Dovevot version 2.2.29.1 where subfolders in a public namespace are only visible to the 2nd folder level: namespace Public -> folder "1st" -> folder -> "2nd" -> folder "3rd" .... Hi, I tried to upgrade from Samba 2.2.8a to 3.0. It worked generally speaking fine and speed went up tremendously, BUT since then the DOS conversion of long file names is freaking me out. Using long file names produced a readable short version plus ~1 oder ~x. where x stands for a number. now long file names produce some cryptic 8 letter name plus extension. listing in a DOS box

...e a working copy on our ftp-server ? It would be very helpfully for me to see a working cups/samba setup and compare it with my stuff. Any hint/help is welcome ! I am using samba 2.2.7a an would like to use the %a variable to distinguish between WinXP und Win2k because I (and others) have problems when using the same roaming profiles for both OP-Systems --> During Logoff when writing back the profile I get an error message: "unable to write ... file prxxx.tmp" and after this the profile when written back by XP is not more usable

Hi. i am using the hide files and hide dot files options, but the files are still visiable on my WinXP clients. Yes, I have the option set on the XP clients to show all files for security reasons. But can't samba just hide this file for everybody / every setting? thanks daniel
