Final version of ZapScan
...that info from the global data structures, so it should
work on any system. It will exit if there are no active Zap channels;
otherwise keep pressing the # key to change channels and it will loop
through.
Again, it's a patch to app_zapbarge.c and can be saved as a separate app
called app_zapscan.c.
Patch is here:

I have 2 Wildcard X100P cards that are properly installed. Ztcfg shows no

I also get the following message from the asterisk console "

Any ideas?

zaptel hardware detection with genzaptelconf
Hi
Someone complained in #asterisk-gui that the Zaptel hardware detection
did not work. It seems that zapscan.bin did not work properly, as no
/etc/asterisk/zapscan.conf was generated.
Solution: detect zaptel hardware with genzaptelconf, and generate
zapscan.conf from it.
genzaptelconf
grep '^fx[os][kl]s=' /etc/zaptel.conf \
| sed 's/\(fx[os]\)..=\(.*\)/[\2]\nport=\1\n/' >/etc/asterisk...

ZapBarge restrictions?
Anyone successfully implemented a solution for allowing ZapBarge call
monitoring only for a specific group of agents calls?
The issue I see is that the feature only works on zap channels, and all
of the agents (in many cases) are IP phones.
Allowing ZapBarge and ZapScan on the TDM PSTN (t100p) interface has
privacy issues for senior managers, but would allow all outbound zap
calls to be monitored.
We really do not want the call center supervisor to be able to hear the
CEOs calls now do we?
Any solutions?

Monitor Logged in Agent's conversation
Hi,
Is it possible to monitor conversation of logged in Agents? Currently I
am using ZapScan to monitor incoming calls, but I would like to monitor
individual agents.

US Caller ID
...;t find what might be causing this. Here is what I got:
Asterisk server hooked up to a digital T1 line (full 24-channel) via a
Digium card.
Verizon has turned on caller ID on the first line (I can guarantee it
is on as I can hear the FSK tones on this line but not the others).
Using zttool an ZapScan() I have determined the following:
1) The RxB/RxD bits toggle from 1 to 0 signaling a ring.
2) A short time later, via ZapScan() I can hear the FSK tone.
3) About the same time I hear the FSK tone I see the "Starting simple
switch" line in the Asterisk console.
4) Next I see the second...

AsteriskNOW generation of zapata.conf file
...Context=incoming
Signalling=fxs_ks
Channel => 2
If I set this up in the Zapata.conf file, and then restart the server,
the context= lines seem to be removed.
Can someone tell me how this process works? The Zapata.conf file has the
statement that changes should be made to the Zapata.conf.zapscan, but my
file does not reference these two channels at all.
Thanks for the help. If this is the wrong list, perhaps someone will
direct me to the proper place.

Asterisk for Call Center (missing reference)
Hi Folks,
I've been searching for an specific feature on asterisk and I found an e-mail from "John Todd" asking for the same thing.

That feature is very usefull in call centers in Brazil so if you want to use Asterisk as a Call Center PBX you have to

How can I know if I wrote the configuration like correctly
Hi list;
While I am writing my configuration on the .conf
files, I would like to know if I wrote the command in
write syntax (form), there is not any way to check if
I am writing correct or not (other than checking my
documentation)?
Also, is there any method for searching on specific
topic about asterisk (a command details and usage),
from my computer (like help and so on)?

Monitor a particular SIP call for training purposes
...To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com
Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Monitor a particular SIP call for training
purposes
Hi,
I've been asked if it is possible to allow a user to listen in on
another users call for training purposes. I know there are ways to
monitor zap channels with apps like zapscan but I don't think this would
be appropriate for these users. Can I do:
Call comes in for user on ext 3210
User on 3222 dials a predefined number say *888. They can then listen
in on the call that user on 3210 is having.
extensions.conf would go something like:
exten => *888,3210,Lis...

recorder, but I'm looking for live monitoring from a muted extension. is

Strange PRI lockup
...8(we use to be on a CVS build from Feb).
I've talked with Bellsouth and from their end everything is normal.
They see the channel that the call is being sent to as being open. I
have to kill -9 the asterisk proceses and restart it to get the pbx back
up and fully operational.
I have used ZapScan() and checked the audio on the channels that
Asterisk still thinks are in use and there is nothing. I can't soft
hangup the chanenls either. The commands "show queues" and "show
agents" return nothing at all. Agents are not able to login or logout
of the queue either....

After a few hours of relatively heavy use, the phone stops sending the

listening in to the call via ZapScan can hear both sides just fine, so
it doesn't seem to be Asterisk's problem, at least directly.
I've tried simply power cycling the phones. Doing that buys me a bit
of time, sometimes a minute, sometimes ten. But the problem always
comes back relatively quickly. Moving the phones to ano...

Zaptel kernel module load order
Evening,
My latest asterisk box is having a difficult problem. It is
configured with one TE210P and TDM400P with four FXO modules. I'm
running FC6.
The TE210P only has a single PRI.
When the system boots, it is completely random what order the zaptel
modules will get loaded in. Sometimes zttool shows the FXO as the
last span, sometimes as the first. When it does load as the first,

PRI(E1) Call recording with Digium cards?
Hi,
I've been asked to see whether it is possible to do call logging for call
center environments at a lower budget than the usual $1000 per channel.
Afaik, with PRI this is possible through a high-impendance Y connection,
but I wonder whether this would work with the Zapata cards. Anyone ever
tried this?
