I am configuring Linux (2.0.33) as a local router. I am wanting to use Samba (1.9.18p3) to "manage" the browse lists on my network so that computers on each subnet can browse resources on the other subnets. All I want to do is make a single share with read only access for everybody, no matter the user people are using, in other words, they don't need to have the user on the server side. ...printer driver lines for the printer? It sounds like Samba is still trying to use the old drivers, and your log file would support this. However, without seeing your smb.conf file, it's just a guess.
