Chris, I have a compaq AMD r4000 x86_64. grabbing the latest kernel and compiling it fixed my clock skew. I have not had any slow disk issues. again the kernel may help doing the command: killall -SIGUSR1 cpuspeed makes the CPU run faster. Hope that helps. Hi I have a compaq R4000 with the 2.4GIG AMD 64 bit. 4000+ rated. proc cpuinfo reports cpu Mhz as 997.481 Do I have to run the 64 bit version to have things run correctly? I just have the normal 4.2 loaded at this time. The laptop seems slow for 4000+ as reflected by the cpu Mhz also. Any thoughts on running the 32 bit version of 4.2 vs the 64 bit version of 4.2? [Shocked] Well I am very impressed, i got ubuntu up and running with World of Warcraft on my wife's system and it runs better with wine that it did in windows, she however has an nvidia video card. my laptop has an ATI Radeon xpress 1100 video card in it, i can play until i move once i start moving the graphics go all haywire all over the place, i have heard nothing good about ATI cards and wine.
