IBM SDD(Subsystem Device Driver) with Xen
Hi, I know that IBM SDD(Subsystem Device Driver) for linux are all for kernel version 2.6.9 or lower - for RHEL4 or less, SLES9 or less I installed IBMsdd rpm, but failed to command "sdd start". I use XenExpress version (xen-3.0.4 version) with 2.6.16 kernel. My questions are 1. Is there anyone who use IBM SDD module with the dom0''s 2.6.16 kernel on Xen-3.0.4 ???? if then, how can you use it?? Is there anyone who use IBM SDD module with any Xen version?? 2. IBM SDD module is for configuring o...

kernel panic PCI-DMA: Random memory would be DMAed
...to go from there. I am pretty sure it is not a hardware issue since, when booting with a non-xen kernel and the same file system, no problem. Anyone have any ideas or run into this problem before? As a side note, I have two of these boxes which are identical, and I have successfully installed XenExpress on one of them, in the hopes of finding something there. XEN - Broadcom issue: survey
I totally agree with Luc Boudreau about this problem. On modern branded server they ALL use Broadcom chipset... I must admit that: a) lot of people are experiencing the problem but can tolerate it or b) someone already experienced this problem and solved it Lets'' approach the problem pragmatically... just start with a survey on the list. ... hope we solve this issue soon. Xen Book
Hi, I had read on this thread - http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-03/msg00759.html - (which is about a year old) about a Xen book being written. Any updates or others currently writing books on Xen? Thank you. -- Mathew Brown mathewbrown@fastmail.fm -- http://www.fastmail.fm - Same, same, but differentÂ… _______________________________________________

Bounty for Network Config & Vnc Help on Gentoo
...to resolve my issues, my guess is it would take less than hour for a xen expert as its just configuration issues. I have had this new hardware for over 2 weeks and have been trying to get xen running on it since then. I was ready to throw the towel in until I got a booting windows environment via XenExpress. Since then, I have had nothing but problems trying to configure networking with bonding in Gentoo and trying to get vnc working to install hvm. Should someone choose to help I will certainly write up a posting to share with everyone as I know these are some issues that other novices are having as...

mkinitrd - dev/xvda1: Unknown root device
Hello, I''ve installed XenExpress 3.2. Within a DomU (Debian) I want to recompile the kernel. I installed the kernel-source /kernel-xs-xen/kernel-2.6.16.38-xs3.2.0.531.3960.src.rpm from the XenServer-3.2.0-src1.iso. The kernel and modules build well. But: ---------------------------- IPCopHost:~# mkinitrd -o /boot/initrd-2.6.16.xen...

Xen Express/Enterprise/Server support for OEL
Guys With the advent of Oracle''s foray into packaging their own flavour of linux are there any plans to incorporate OEL (Oracle Enterprise Linux) support into XenExpress/XenEnterprise/XenServer? Specifically vm creation/import/export etc..? Since OEL is based on Redhat I''m assuming this would be relatively trivial?? Thanks in Advance Mike. _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.x...

Hi all! I''m trying to create a Windows domU setting vcpu=2 and cpus= "0,2", but xm vcpu-list show the second vcpu in paused state all the time. Is it necessary to use any additional parameter? Debian/Xen usage summary
Hello, I just setup a few virtual systems, and I came into some limitations using XEN. I''d like to share these, just to know if the limitations are in the system or in the user :) I am using a standard Debian 4.0 (etch) GNU/Linux distribiution. The system is an Intel Core 2 duo with virtualization inside. I use the amd64 flavour. Thus my kernel is

All, I installed Vista on Xen yesterday, but it no longer shows up on my Admin console. Disk space still shows 30G used by it.
