VIF drop with snv_134
Hello, I have a Sun X4140 running snv_134 as a Dom0 with a CentOS 4.8 (for Oracle 9i) and an Opensolaris DomU running on it with 4 NICs configured. I''m experiencing the virtual NICs dropping on the host. The Dom0 NICs are up and fine, and I am able to xm console into the DomU. The only metric that I have which s...

Is the J4200 SAS array suitable for Sun Cluster?
...200 with SAS disks is approved for this use, although I haven''t seen this information in writing. Does anyone have experience with this sort of configuration? I have a few questions. I understand that the J4200 with SATA disks will not do SCSI reservations. Will it with SAS disks? The X4140 seems to require two SAS HBAs, one for the internal disks and one for the external disks. Is this correct? Will the disks in the J4200 be accessible from both nodes, so that the cluster can fail over the storage? I know this works with a multi-initiator SCSI bus, but I don''t know about...

X45xx storage vs 7xxx Unified storage
We are looking at adding to our storage. We would like ~20TB-30 TB. we have ~ 200 nodes (1100 cores) to feed data to using nfs, and we are looking for high reliability, good performance (up to at least 350 MBytes /second over 10 GigE connection) and large capacity. For the X45xx (aka thumper) capacity and performanance seem to be there (we have 3 now) However, for system upgrades , maintenance

SSD and ZFS
Hi all, just after sending a message to sunmanagers I realized that my question should rather have gone here. So sunmanagers please excus ethe double post: I have inherited a X4140 (8 SAS slots) and have just setup the system with Solaris 10 09. I first setup the system on a mirrored pool over the first two disks pool: rpool state: ONLINE scrub: none requested config: NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM rpool ONLINE 0 0...

zfs list improvements?
To improve the performance of scripts that manipulate zfs snapshots and the zfs snapshot service in perticular there needs to be a way to list all the snapshots for a given object and only the snapshots for that object. There are two RFEs filed that cover this: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6352014 : ''zfs list'' should have an option to only present direct
