Interop problem with old dropbear and new openssh
...quot;SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.5p1 Debian-6" still works fine. The config files are identical and I can't find anything in the changelog between those versions which looks like it would affect the content of that message. Has anyone seen this, or does anyone have any suggestions for possible workrounds? Graham

blues in c
G'Day, I'm a little confused why the c function has the followng effect on classes - is this a feature ? My workround [ class(cc) <- c("POSIXt", "POSIXct") ] seems to do the job. Many thanks Bernie McConnell "R version 1.3.1, 2001-08-31" on NT > aa <- as.POSIXct("2001-09-23") > bb <- as.POSIXct("2001-09-24") > cc

Java crashes in wined3d.dll
...ined3d. The machine it fails on uses an Nvidia graphics card (5200 GPU), the one that works uses Intel graphics (Asus Eee netbook). I've tried disabling the Nvidia accelerated driver and it makes no difference. I'm running Wine 1.1.16 on Ubunto 8.10. Is this a known problem, are there any workrounds? (of course being a Java program it shouldn't really be necessary to use Wine, but currently it's only available as a Windows build - shame) TIA, Rick

bkde() breaks
Hello, I've been using the KernSmooth package recently and think I have found a problem with it: after loading the library I can issue bkde(c(27,26,27), bandwidth=dpik(c(27,26,27)), range.x=c(4.4, 113.6), gridsize=128, truncate=T) and bkde returns an error. If I change the gridsize to 129 the function works perfectly. I have tried this on my Linux box, and on a nearby Solaris machine, both

_Possible_ work-round for normalizePath error (was Re: [Rd] Package (PR#13475))

TSM on ext3
Long back I found that TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager - a backup/archive program sometimes still called by its older name of ADSM) didn't handle ext3 filesystems very well, and provided a note with workround for Stephen's documentation. I've just pulled the TSM client version 5.1.0 and one of the announced features is ext3 (and jfs) support. So if you use TSM and upgrade, you can take

WINE and security devices (dongles)
I'd like to move my copy of TrueCAD to WINE. Its a well-behaved Win 95 program but uses anti-copy protection. It has a choice: - TrueCAD defaults to writing a security code to a hidden part of the disk at a known place. This is one of those annoying plots that looses your security code if you defrag the disk. Am I right in assuming that this won't work with WINE even if I can

crashed would be solved by sudo ?
Hi all, Most of time I like to try out wine with game console emulators which use fare amount of d3d or opengls, to see how much wine supports on this. Suddenly today that the wine does not work with any emulator I have tried with, came up with error message that is followed. But I accidentally found a workround that with ``sudo'', the problem won't occor. Any idea ?

Performing Analysis on Subset of External data
Hi, I want to perform some analysis on subsets of huge data files. There are 20 of the files and I want to select the same subsets of each one (each subset is a chunk of 1500 or so consecutive rows from several million). To save time and processing power is there a method to tell R to *only* read in these rows, rather than reading in the entire dataset then selecting subsets and deleting the

strange things with eval and parent frames
Dear mailing list, I have found some strange behaviour which I think relates to parent frames and eval. Can anyone explain what's going on here? First example: > test.parent.funcs_ function() { outer.var_ 5 subfunc1_ function() substitute( outer.var, envir=parent.frame()) print( subfunc1()) subfunc2b_ function() eval( quote( outer.var), envir=parent.frame()) print(

lldb -c corefile get segmentation fault on centos7
Hi, I build llvm+clang+lldb 3.7 successfully on centos7, and lldb -p PID works pretty well. However when I tried lldb -c corefile executable_bin, lldb itself core dumpped. Attached the following core info which is debugged by gdb: [root at dn-cn-controller-4fbd4 data1]# lldb -c a.corefile /usr/local/myproject/bin/cnode *(lldb) target create "/usr/local/myproject/bin/cnode" --core

pxelinux efi64 boot woes on hyper-v gen 2
Gene, I found a document from IBM that explains why it didn't like Vendor-Class-Identifier option I was using "PXEClient" was causing EFI boot rooms to dummy spit, that's very useful, that combined with RTFMing the PXE specs 3.0-3.2 might solve my problem if I keep at it. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21247032 Even the PXELinux docs suggest encapsulating

pxelinux efi64 boot woes on hyper-v gen 2
Gene, As it happened I started working on this again just as you mailed me. It appears that PXE-E99 may also be related to MTFTP part of the PXE spec. IBM also says it has something to do with jumbo frames. I tried setting PXE.mtcp-ip to 0.0.0.0 to disable it but still no joy. The bootfile size shows up as zero because that relates to "option boot-size" in dhcp and doesn't seem to
