woomera doesn't work (same OpenH323 problem as with chan_h323)
Banging my head against a brick wall trying to get a working H.323
implementation for CVS-HEAD. (The ONLY H.323 I have had working is
OH323 v0.6.5 with CVS-STABLE - see my other post regarding compile
problems on OH323 for HEAD)
So, I thought, lets try this wonderful chan_woomera (dubbed "H.323
for Asterisk that works!").
I get exactly the same kind of problem as I have previously had with
the in-tree chan_h323. OpenH323 can't open an audio codec, and I have
a feeling it is because it is trying to mess around with devices.
See my previous post about this with...

Problems with woomera (ISDN BRI) and playback app: Dropping incompatible voice frame

[Asterisk-Dev] OPAL now supports IAX2
August 5th, 2005:
Craig Southeren announced today that OPAL (http://www.voxgratia.org)
now provides support for the IAX2 protocol(Written by Derek Smithies
and released under the MPL). This support allows you to use
chan_woomera (http://www.pbxfreeware.org) driver developed by Anthony
Minessale II to interconnect your asterisk systems and use the IAX2,
SIP, and H.323 protocols.
I would like to thank everyone involved in Cluecon for all their
support!
Thanks guys!

Configuring Sangoma BRI with zaptel?
Hello,
there has been a post to this list somewhere arount april which said
that it is possible to use a Sangoma BRI A500 card with zaptel and
asterisk bristuff. That is, without sangoma_brid and sangoma_mgd daemons
and without woomera channels.
Could anybody give me a short hint how to configure this?
I tried wanpipe-driver + zaptel + asterisk-bristuffed, but I couldn't
get zaptel to recognize the sangoma channels.
modprobe wanpipe did load zaptel module and others but no spans appeared
in /proc/zaptel or /etc/zaptel.conf...

[Asterisk-Dev] Craig Southeren to speak at Cluecon!
...k has pioneered the development of open source
telephony applications with his ground-breaking OpenH323 protocol
stack that stood alone as the only open source VOIP software for
quite some time. Today, Craig continues to raise the bar with the
next generation OPAL VOIP abstraction layer and WOOMERA a brilliant
approach to overcome software incompatibles. Hope to see you all at
ClueCon.
Don't forget to register its less than a month away!!! If you have
problems registering please email me.
Thanks,

Sangoma BRI card -- National ISDN/North America support (Having problems with analog disconnect supervision?)
...better call quality and call control
signalling, without having to pay hundreds of dollars a month for a
fractional T1. (Say goodbye to analog lines left open and the resulting
busy signals!)
For anyone who is curious: Sangoma is writing their own driver layer for
this card, not using bristuff or woomera.
In other words, if they decide to go ahead with it, this would be a new
contribution to the marketplace, with the bonus of having Sangoma's
solid drivers and excellent support behind it. Just having decent,
affordable hardware will remove a big roadblock to going digital for
sites with fewer...

h323 and asterisk
We come into this section of the dialplan:
exten => 88670333333,1,Wait(1)
exten => 88670333333,n,SayUnixTime
exten => 88670333333,n,NoOp(If you know the extension ...)
exten => 88670333333,n,Dial(${PHONE_6003})
The caller from the GK hears only ringing, not the time.
The extension 6003 rings and I can pick up, but without any voice nor video.

Best ISDN BRI solutions?
Hi all,
For a while now I've been using Asterisk together with HFC-PCI cards
(Cologne chipset) for Euro-ISDN BRI support. However, I do not
consider this to be the most reliable solution and believe that the
most stubborn problems have always been software related.
If my clients are willing to spend a bit more money on different
hardware, what do you think the best solution would be?

Asterisk, VoIP and Samsung iDCS100
Hi,
Firstly, I'm new to Asterisk and am a system admin rather than a phone engineer. I've googled and read around but haven't been able to answer my questions sufficiently to buy hardware and get this thing set up.
Secondly, if I've missed vital information from what is below, please let me know what.
Onward...:
So, what I'm trying to solve us remote working. We're a

I am using ISDN for PSTN connections and where I live there must be some kind of overlap dialing
enabled, otherwise P2P configurations don't work. With current DAHDI drivers I no longer need
special settings to make things work (Wanpipe/Woomera was different), so I guess overlap dialing
is enabled. Some SIP phones distinguish between "Overlap Dialing" and "Automatic Dialing", so
your channel bank might also have something like an Automatic Dialing option with some timing
value.
