I've read that it is possible to setup * using a winmodem (linmodem). I was wondering if anyone on the list has setup * with a winmodem and if so how they did it. I have a pctel modem (pct789) I'd like to play with. Thanks for your help Jared

I downloaded a newer copy of WineX from the CVS, using WinCVS (Pesky winmodem doesn't work with Linux). I copied it to my linux partition & did a ./configure . However, when I tried to start Tax Cut 2004 , it complained that Mozilla did not have an active X Browser and offered to go on line and get one. I have spoken to the UK distributor and they only sell the Wildcard. They said that the quality of the modem was questionable. Does anyone have any experience of this? hello, I''m running XEN 2.0 on IBM ThinkPad T23. Now the weird thing is that I get two different outputs from /sbin/lspci depending on whether I run 2.6.8.1-xen0 or 2.6.8.1-bproc. It seems that the Apollo MD3200 winmodem sold my newegg no longer uses the MD3200 chipset. At least the $13 version I ordered arrived with a different chipset. I made them aware of the issue and hopefully they will be changing their description soon. Anyway, I'm looking for a new source now, anyone know where to get these cards cheap...
