My intent is to set up a single Multi-User NT box as a shared email/productivity program environment for my six full time UNIX users. My environment is such that I'll be using Outlook 97 to talk to MS Exchange 5.5 servers, and running MS Office Pro 97 (among other) tools from SGI 6.4

My server is RH 5.2 and i use Samba 1.9.18p10 and the client use WFW 3.11 with tcp/ip protocols installed. The subnet and the IP Address is right but I still only telnet form WFW 3.11 to Linux...not the reverse. On Linux telnet is working. I've checked it through this cmdline "telnet localhost 23 or telnet 127.0.0.1" . And I also testparm smb.conf and nothing wrong happen. FYI I set

Hi all, I've dug through the lists and google, but haven't found very much info on using Citrix with a samba PDC. The small number of messages and information I've found, lead me to believe it will work. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge they'd be willing to share? I'm currently involved in rolling out Citrix for proprietary windows apps for remote offices.

A long time ago, and I could be mistaken, I thought samba could be configured so that instead of a smbd process per user/machine it would spawn a process per share/user/machine. Hello, I run a Windows domain based on Samba 3 and I am searching for a way to distribute/deploy software to clients. I.e., a user logging on to a client, software should be automatically installed or upgraded. Is there any common solution? I heard of MSI packages, but I don't know if it is necessary to create MSI packages of all installations... Thanks Florian
