Hi, I've installed a game from a CD-ROM, (by typing 'wine setup.exe' in the console) but I cannot get my wine installation to recognize that the disk is in the drive and actually start the software. If I launch the program, it complains that the disk is not present. I have a Dell Latitude D600 with Windows XPsp2 on the first partition and Ubuntu Feisty (Linux kernel 2.6.20) with Wine 0.9.30 on the second partition, set up to dual-boot. The XP share is NTFS and mounted read-only for Linux. What I want to do is run my Windows apps from the XP partition under Wine, because I really hate using Windows. A lot of the apps seem to ask for DLLs they can't find.

...m that multiple users on LINUX can share thus allowing me to keep a single install of my windows apps. The default is to install to /home/CURRENT_USER/.wine so I'm wondering, as long as the LINUX users are in the same group, can I relocate the .wine dir to say, /home/share/.wine and update the wineconfig? I just started using LINUX seriously so I'm pretty new at it. Thanks for the replies.

I have successfully installed/ran AudioMulch under Wine. One quib, my MIDI interface is not showing up.
