Print jobs hang in Samba, don't go to UNIX spooler
...I am aware. Does anyone know what might cause this? I would like to find some way to restart printing without taking all the smbd processes down, because doing so would mean stopping production lines (we're a manufacturing facility). Thanks for any help you can provide! Best regards, Dave Windsor AdW/MOE2.12 Team Leader, Test Systems Engineering Robert Bosch Corporation Anderson, SC, USA

FW: Strange locking errors with LabView under Samba 2.2.7 and HP-UX 11.11
..., and nmbd/smbd processes seem to cause less disk utilization as well. What could have changed between 2.2.4 and 2.2.5 to cause this? If anyone has any suggestions, I have plenty of system time in the next two weeks to experiment (but I probably won't start until Monday). FIXED - Print jobs hang in Samba, don't go to UNIX spool er
...restarted it. Printing now works just fine. I still don't know what caused the problem, I never saw any error messages in the [sn]mbd or client logs, even with the log level turned turned up to 2. Strange locking errors with LabView under Samba 2.2.7 and HP-UX 1 1.11
...I haven't yet had a chance to try out 2.2.7a to see if there's any difference. The problem occurs when running LabView with both NT4 and W2K clients. With our holiday shutdown almost here, I hope to get a chance to try 2.2.7a sometime tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any assistance! FYI - pci_mmcfg_init kernel error after upgrading to 5.6
...la.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=581933 There are apparently performance implications due to this issue. Fortunately, the solution is simple: just boot with the kernel parameter acpi_mcfg_max_pci_bus_num=on If everyone is already familiar with this, please ignore. :-) -- Best Regards, Dave Windsor Robert Bosch LLC Team Leader, MES Database Infrastructure Group (AdP/TEF7.1) 4421 Highway 81 North Anderson, SC 29621 USA www.bosch.us Tel: 1 (864) 260-8459 Fax: 1 (864) 260-8422 Dave.Windsor at us.bosch.com

rsyslog.conf
I was looking at the manpage for rsyslog.conf, primarily because I need to filter my manager's new fedora 22 logs coming to our loghost, because of the bug that I forwarded (if it gets through). At any rate, I am surprised: under selectors, I see that " The keywords error, warn and panic are deprecated and should not be used anymore." Huh? If I only want warn or more severe,

Problem after joining Windows domain: Will Samba support "fallback" to local domain for authentication of local users?

Of course, I can just go to all the production equipment and remap the drives, but there are quite a few of them, and I'm trying to avoid the downtime. Thanks for any advice!
