Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs availab...

3D pie
Hi all, Is there a way to draw 3D pie with R (like excel does)? I know how to do it in 2D, just by using pie(something)... I know it isn't the best way to represent data, but people are sometimes more interested by the look and feel than by the accuracy of the results... If there is no way, have you another suggestion ? (i already use dotchart instead of pie) Thks to all of

IceCast Questions.... ("id3 tags, mp3, Ogg, etc)

Where is this WiMP plugin that supports Icecast2 Vorbis streams? I would be very much interested in that. And where also is the Real plugin? - Chris ______________________________________________________________ "Time & Space: A Tribute to Yasunori Mitsuda" Hail to the composer of Chrono Trigger, C...

Seeking compiled OS X "contrib" packages
...ne in the doc file. Not a single error. Unfortunately, R still does not recognize it as a legitimate library/package, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I know I'm not a programmer (for one thing, they get paid better than I do), and I know that I will be roundly derided as a wimp for writing this, but I give up. Has anyone out there accomplished this feat (or imported the contrib packages via the XWindows version), and if so, would you be willing to end my suffering? I have seen some posted online, but as luck would have it they don't overlap much with the ones I'...

Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
At my company we have a bunch of music in FLAC format. We want to play it using the Windows Media Player, but none of us can get the illiminable DS filters to work. Here are some details. Illiminable DS filters http://www.wmplugins.com/ItemDetail.aspx?ItemID=681 http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ We are using the latest build available on this website, and I have read all the known issues. ...ght now. Your name actually came up when >I asked her about streaming, although I wasn't clear what she thought >you were doing in this regard. Dude, if RealPlayer gets Icecast2/Vorbis support, that's just one more step in the right direction. Most people don't use WinAmp, but WiMP, Real, or iTunes (which is unfortunate). If you guys at Xiph can get WiMP to accept Icecast2 streams somehow, then I'll really be rejoicing. ^_^ >And WRT WinAMP 3--maybe I'm just getting lucky. PeerCast development...
...PeerCast shares some similarities nonetheless... Is there anyone who would be willing/capable to code a streamlined Ogg Vorbis decoder for inclusion with the PeerCast client? The only thing preventing Ogg Vorbis from wide use is the many software players that still don't support it (Real, WiMP, MMJB). Since people have to download the PeerCast client to listen over the PeerCast network, it would 1) be annoying for the typical user to download a Vorbis-compatible player seperately (especially if they're comfortable with their current player) and 2) be beneficial to include by def...

ramdisk_size
Hey All, I'am using pxelinux to try and boot a 200meg uncompressed (approx 50 compressed) ramdisk onto a machine with 512meg of ram. It looks as though I'am running out of memory (attempt to access beyond end of device error). Is there a limit on what we put for ramdisk_size? Or Is there other limitations? thanks -- Jeff Geddes, BSc(UNB) Computer Systems Specialist University of

Educational App Problem (4nec2x): Fail When 3d Window Closed
...ate. The last window in the error messages, does say that if it works in Windoz then put in a bugzilla report to winehq. I'm pretty good about troubleshooting, but all I can tell with this error message is it looks like it may be a DirectX problem and I know diddle about this. I'm a real wimp when it comes to submitting bugs because in the past I've been flammed like crazy in the other bugzilla pages for not doing a complete and thorough scouring of the database. Guess what else I'm not good at? [Shocked]

I couldn't find any examples of how to do this online. Sorry for being such a 'Windows' wimp. ;-) -- Stuart Halliday This email is the property of ECS Technology Ltd. Template Home Dir Question
Yeah, I'm kinda wimping here, but it's Friday. In smb.conf I have this line: template homedir = /usr/templates/%D/%U template shell = /bin/ssh This samba server is a PDC. /usr/templates is o:g:w:rwx and acls are set u:m:g:o:rwx. When I attempt to log in on a freshly domain joined XP client I receive the erro...

Why are file extensions bad?
I'm not sure that I understand why a distinct file extension for video is considered so bad. It seems to me that the minimum effort case of continuing to treat .ogg as a multimedia container that could have all sorts of things in it, but is probably just audio, and something like .ogv which means a stream containing primarily video will spare anyone from having to write and maintain multiple

Wine on RedHat7.1?
Hi there! I'm trying to compile Wine on my Red Hat7.1. But during the compilation my system suddenly reboots without any error message. Under Red Hat 7.0 I also can't compile it, only on SuSE 7.0 does it work! What's wrong? What can I do about it? Thx Marius

DST is coming nigh - HELP!

No intention to ever comply with international standards. International standards are for wimps. I've simulated the event by adding yesterday a whole day to the calender of an isolated Samba domain consisting of a Samba 3.0.20b-3.1-SuSE server and a Windows XP Professional member client. This morning they both show an hour later, because they think it's Sunday already. I've...
