Just let whiners whine... Please?
There'll be whiners on all lists, and no list is ever going to be pleasing everybody... (And everyone should decide for themselves whether or not they belong to that group, as I will not be mentioning names! I'm sure there are those who'll think *I* am a whiner...) So at some point just let it be and continu...

[CentOS-announce] Release for CentOS Linux 7 (1503 ) on x86_64
...most impactful manner. ... > thoughts ? I really think that if someone is actually interested in helping the project, rather than being a backseat driver and griping at every change from the Steeped Tradition of the Unix Protectors - In Training , a division of the National Organization of Whiners (STUP-IT / NOW) standards, that someone should be willing to take the initiative to follow the -devel list. (Yes, that contrived acronym is tongue-in-cheek and meant as a joke to lighten things up a bit.... no offense to any particular person intended; please take a good laugh, smile, and e...

Success at last and thanks!
Hi! Soryr about being a whiner, not enough sleep and too much frustration don''t become too well. In any case, I have succeeded with the shaping now. The problem seems to have been twofold. First of all I had the rate too high for the actual throughput. We have a 1mbit connection to the internet, and after lowering...

How do you make a formal "feature" request?
Who decides what features are in R and how they are implemented? If there is someone here who has that authority I have this request: A report() function analogous to the plot() function that makes it easy to generate a report from a table of data. This should not be in some auxiliary package, but part of the core R just like plot(). As a long time SAS user I cannot believe R does not have this.

Protocol for answering basic questions
I have been following the discussions on 'Reasons not to answer very basic questions in a straightforward way' with interest as someone who is also new to R and has had similar experiences. As such it with sadness that I note that most seem to agree with the present approach to the responses to basic questions. I must thank those respondants to my own questions who have been helpful, but
