RODBC and NULL values
Dear All, Writing sooner than I thought I'd need to. I'm using R 2.4 on Mac OS X, with RODBC, PostgreSQL 8.1 and Actual's ODBC driver. I have all my data in Filemaker 8.5, but it is automatically exported into PostgreSQL for analysis as Filemaker's ODBC and JDBC access is awful, slow and has a tendency to crash. I have disability data where for each patient there is a survival

Eaton 5PX 3rd party batteries
...holesale.com. There are some other companies out there that I will never buy from again. I try to get high-rate batteries, and they are harder to find. As I recall, one should avoid "deep discharge" batteries for UPSes. A deep discharge battery is great for constant load stuff (like wheelchairs, golf carts, etc) but UPSes need "shorter" bursts of lots of power. I read the spec sheets and order the heaviest batteries I can find. More lead means heavier batteries, and longer life. I check each battery's initial voltage. I have a note that says I expect at least 12.9V, bu...

In addition, it's getting increasingly difficult for me to give up my mother language. Sporting wheelchairs are now almost distant cousins of the everyday chair. A clear sign of my ignorance. Some clinics are able to show this on a computer image, letting the person actually see what the final result of the operation will be. Edited by webBikeWorld. Getting custom field data from the page through crawling
Now on to my next question.. I've got the search and indexing working well for now.. My next quest is to implement a system of creating custom fields in the index. Our site is fully dynamic. That is, every page is generated in PHP and there are enough different kinds of pages that I wouldn't want to get into the business of indexing the DB directly, so I think that using htdig to crawl

door phone
Hi, Anyone know anything about Asterisk's support for door phones? Receiving the call from the door intercom system, opening the door, etc? Any hardware recommendations? I understand that the equipment we have now is Panasonic proprietary and came with the currently deployed Panasonic TD12-32 pbx. We intend to deploy Asterisk in a 72 extensions + 16 trunks in a while, so any info will be

Eaton 5PX 3rd party batteries
Hello, nut recently told me that the batteries need replacing in my Eaton 5PX2200RT (ups) and 5PXEBM48RT (external battery pack). According to my notes, it has been just over 4 years since I installed them. Looking at on-line sales, these seem to use batteries in a pre-packaged plastic shell. I don't recall if that's what's in my units or not. Do you have any experience with

Multi Byte Strings
Hey guys, We''ve been talking about the multi-byte patch and I think it''s time to get feedback from you guys on a possible way forward. We can include ActiveSupport::Multibyte with rails 1.2, and update all of the relevant helpers to use the String#chars proxy. This will mean that none of the action view helpers will mangle multibyte strings. Similarly, if any Strings are being
