ATA devices
Does anyone know of a 24 port ATA device that could be installed in a
phone closet? Like a channel bank, but, instead of multiplexing onto a
T-1 circuit, it would convert to SIP/RTP on a LAN connection.
Thanks,

Splicing audio clips into one stream
...here a Linux tool that will splice several gsm sound clips together
into one clip?
In my agi script, I would like to use 'get_data' with one clip instead
of multiple 'stream_file' so the user doesn't have to listen to the
entire spiel before responding.
Thanks,

Configuring new system for a non-profit organization
...same cost ($520/mo) they will get all 24
channels as data--the channels are dynamically allocated. As each voice
call is initiated, a channel will be pulled from data and used for voice.
Can the T100P handle this dynamic allocation? Or must the channels be
fixed?

Headless Linux system for Asterisk
Because of space limitations and because of the location of the
punch-down blocks, my * server is located on the shelf in a coat closet.
Sadly, there is not enough space (or ventilation) for the monitor and
keyboard. This will all change when we move to new quarters, but...
Does anyone have experience running Linux/Asterisk without a monitor?
What, if any, are the issues?
TIA

Help please
...bout $480/yr.
Purchasing a new PBX would run anywhere from $4K to $9K.
My questions are: should I be considering Asterisk? What type of
telephone set could I use with Asterisk? Would I be able to conference
outside parties into a call? Would I have voice mail?
Thanks for your help,

Asterisk Maintenance
...the system did not respond to keyboard
input. However, calls were being processed for the PRI and 7960 phones.
I replaced the TDM40B card with a new one, and the system now seems to
be ok. But I'm wondering, why would the LEDs go off? Why would
keyboard input fail?
Thanks,

...Unknown Information Element)".
IE 21 (0x15) is defined as Q931_CALL_STATE_SUSPEND_REQUEST. IE 42
(0x2a) is not defined in the code and I couldn't google it.
Is this something perculiar with ISDN in the US? If this something that
should be handled in libpri?
Thanks,

This is an Athlon-64 3000+ CPU and Fedora Core 2. zaptel-1.0.2.
Is there anyone who has a TDM card on a "quiet" system who can run
System Monitor and observe CPU utilization?
Thanks for your help.
P.S. I do 'hdparm -u1 /dev/hdx' on the disks.

Where is D channel in a PRI link?
...rovide the D channel "contiguous to
the voice channels" (voice on channels 1-8 and D channel on 9). The
data channels would be 20-24.
Will the T100P be able to accept this configuration? Does the PRI
specification mandate where the D-channel should be?
Thanks for your help.

I need to connect a bunch of analog telephone sets. Does anyone have
any comments about this channel bank? Disconnect supervision? Echo?
ADSI problems? The price is right @ $995 new and $695 refurbished.

Exceptionally long queue length queuing . . . .
I wonder if anyone out there has a perspective on this. There are a
welter of tickets out there on the matter, most of them closed.
This problem began for me over a year ago, and continues up to the
latest versions I've installed (1.6.2.13).
It happens randomly, and the suggestion on one of the bug tracker
tickets that it is instigated by a small network leg looks...

Polycom 501 power over ethernet
When I bought two Polycom 501 SIP phones, I naively thought they were
Power-over-Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) because they were "powered over
ethernet." Silly me.
Polycom must have some odd voltage or funny way of injecting the
power, because the POE switch I bought for them (Netgear F@510P)
won't power them, though if I use the Polycom-supplied AC adapter and

What this happens, my 7940 phones won't register. Fixing /etc/hosts

Do any of you Linux gurus know who is corrupting the hosts file?
