Save R-Part Tree
Hello,
I have some Data, that I analyse using a regression tree (by using rpart).
Now I would like to save this tree to a file for later use, and load it (not necessarily in the same workspace). It would be most preferrable, if I could just save some parameters (later probably to a database) and load them again to reform the tree.
Is this possible? And if yes, how?
Thanks in advance

No luck contacting Chris Lattner re commit access
Hi all,
As per the instructions here
<http://llvm.org/docs/DeveloperPolicy.html#obtaining-commit-access>, I
contacted Chris Lattner to obtain commit access but haven't received a
response (either positive or negative). What's the expected turnaround time
for this (I contacted him five days ago)? In case he's currently
unavailable, is there someone else I could contact?
Thanks,

matching country name tables from different sources
Hi,
Before I reinvent the wheel I wanted to kindly ask you for your opinion if there is a simple way to do it.
I want to merge a larger number of tables from different data sources in R and the matching criterium are country names. The tables are of different size and sometimes the country names do differ slightly.
Has anyone done this or any recommendation on what commands I

OO model style: inheritance
Hi everybody
I am totally new to rails and I am trying to start a
tiny project to get familiar with rails. But I already
got my first problem and I would be happy if somebody
could point me in the best and cleanest direction.
I am trying to develop a small gallery app. Since I
would like to add more features in future I am trying
to design a clean OO architecture of my models:

Member Server Setup Assistance
Hello,
I'm following along with the wiki(Setup a Samba AD Member Server)
and I have a question after reading the 'Set up a basic smb.conf'
section. Do I need to extend the schema in order for my member server to
successfully join and service file shares? Do I need to configure a
krb5.conf file? Thanks.

Member Server Setup Assistance
Rowland,
I set a user with a uid and domain users group with a gid but I'm
still unable to view them using 'id'. I do notice a few strange
observations. If I go to another user to attempt to assign a uid. I get
the default value of 10000. I would expect 2001 given I set the first
user with uid 2000. Groups however appear to increment.

Hello James,
do you see your users and groups with "wbinfo -u" and "wbinfo -g"?
Did you install "heimdal-clients" to test with "kinit" to get a
Kerberos-Ticket?
Did you put "winbind" behind "passwd" and "group" in /etc/nsswitch.conf?

Count data in random Forest
Hello R-user!
I am running R 2.7.0 on a Power Book (Tiger). (I am still R and
statistics beginner)
I try to find the most important variables to divide my dataset as
given in a categorical variable using randomForest.
Is randomForest() able to deal with count data?
Or is there no difference because only the ranks are used in the trees?
Thanks in advance

shape downstream of a ppp link
Hi,
is it anyhow possible to tell the other end of the ppp link how he should
queue the packages? I have a ppp link to my isp and would like to control
the order of packages send to me. I would like to give uucp a lower
priority than http. Is this possible? Has ppp any special features to
control such things?
Bye, Jörg.

[LLVMdev] llvm for macho/x86 target
Hi Jackob,
X86 / Darwin support is actively being worked on. It's very new which
means you must check out the source from CVS and build your own
binary. If you can live with the lack of vector support and the
occasional bugs :-), I would urge you to do so and share us with your
experience.
Cheers,
Evan
