Zoom....
This is even more fun: I was trying to install chrome, maybe that would work. wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm yum localinstall google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm I try to run chome, and first, it wants a kde wallet, and I hit cancel, never set one up... and google can't work. It won't even go to google. com. Anyone? Will it really

CentOS 6.2 KS/Installer
I'm using the kickstart file we developed for v5 on 6.2 in VM (kvm/qemu running on a CentOS 5.6), but it fails: Error partitioning. Could not allocate requested partitions: not enough free space on disks. There's nothing wrong with the disk. Both fdisk and parted works fine, I can view, partition and write a partition table and the disk is 10.5GB. However, looking through

Passwords apparently stopped working.
...were correct for the accounts. I also verified that neither of passwords had been reset in some months and there were no expiry dates set for the accounts. I would accept the coincidence of both forgetting their passwords except for the fact that each had kept a record of their password in their wallets and I was able to confirm those values against our records as well. Resetting both the passwords to their current values using the passwd utility on each system corrected the problem insofar as the users were concerned. However, I am somewhat perplexed as to the reason for their passwords to stop...

Asterisk 1.4 problem with ztdummy and MeetMe()
Hi, when I build zaptel-1.2 and asterisk-1.2 I can modprobe ztdummy and start asterisk to be able to use MeetMe(). When I build zaptel-1.4 and asterisk-1.4 I can modprobe ztdummy and start asterisk but I am not able to use MeetMe(). What do I miss? KOrganizer problems
My file/print/mail server is CentOS. My laptop is Mandriva 2008.0. I have smb shortcuts loaded by fstab to give instant access to my home directory and a data directory on the server. All was working well, after some initial problems with firewall and selinux, until yesterday. After finding from the logs that someone was trying to get into my imap server I decided that, although they

aSTERISK / Vicidial systems over 4MB fiber
Hello everyone, As I am new to the asterisk community (although have been on the list reading for about 6 months) I wanted to see what users would recommend for security to protect several asterisk/ vicidial servers over a fiber connection. Currently I have a managed switch (Tellabs 8813-310) from time warner but I am having intrusion issues on my linux server which I think are contributing

RE: OT (a little): IPV6 Ramifications Article
Hi guys, I know it's a little off topic but......Wondering if you can help. My wife has been asked to find a writer to produce a story on "The dramatic ramifications of IPV6 on commercial businesses and how it will change the product designs for ordinary household/commercial use in a 5-10 year time frame" So her company hired someone who should have been able to deliver the

Multiple lines on Linksys/Sipura phones
I'm going to be deploying around 30 IP phones with Asterisk in the near future. I've tentatively settled on the Linksys/Sipura SPA9xx family. I am unclear on the notion of "lines" in the context of SIP phones like these. The SPA942 model has a 2-line-to-4-line upgrade available, but I don't know why I'd need to purchase it. I have tested a SPA942 with Asterisk, and

Canceled uploads and exceptions.
Hi, I''m currently putting together a program that allows a user to cancel a current file upload while it''s happening. When I cancel the upload in the browser, I get a " Error reading HTTP body: #<RuntimeError: Socket read returned insufficient data: 4139>" exception. That''s all fine, and understandable, given the browser just closes the connection

London DDI test request
Greetings list, I'm trying to establish if there's an issue whereby certain telcos in certain countries have not updated the London, UK numbering plan to include some parts of the 020 3 range, despite it being in operation for some two years now. To help with this, I'd be most grateful anyone outside the UK could make a test call to +44 203 3393 7389. This is a simple test number
