antivirus sniffer/scanner for networks
Is anyone aware of a package that can detect viri on the network & possibly alert when there are? Here is the scenario: Our network is utilized by guest users all the time, sometimes into the thousands. We see guests from all over with a variety of OSs & hardware, all of which, we have no control or say in that matter. I am looking for...

ClamAV reports a trojan
...achine and run tests on the suspect file there. or better yet: mount drive from suspect machine on trusted machine. These would be general guidelines for forensics. In particular (someone more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong): clamav is a scanner that is designed to detect viruses (virii I should use for plural as it is Latin word) that can attack MS Windows. In general, these viruses can not do anything to Linux system. Therefore, if clamav detects as "infected" one of the files belonging to Linux distribution, it should be considered a "false positive". After...

Bioassays Yielding concentration-Mortality data
Dear all, I'm trying reproduce an example of bioassays Yielding Concentration-Mortality Data particularly control - adjustment model from book Bioassay of Entomopathogenic Microbes and Nematodes chapter 7 with R. I used glm with family=binomial and link=probit, but I do not know how to implement parameter gamma (control mortality - mortality of the untreated control insect in this exaple)

[LLVMdev] [Patch] Adding unit tests to LLVM
(Forwarding this to llvm-dev) This patch adds a unit test framework to LLVM, along with a sample unit test for DenseMap. I don't expect this patch to be accepted as-is, this is mainly a trial balloon and proof of concept. Some notes about the patch: 1) For the testing framework, I went with Google Test, since it's the one I have the most experience with. I fully expect an extended

Pluralized Controller Names?
If I do: script/generate controller Photo I get a controller named photo_controller. OTOH, if I do: script/generate scaffold Photo I get a controller named photos_controller. (Note that the controller name is pluralized). I realize that I''m specifying the controller name explicitly in the first case, but it seems odd to me that the scaffold command generates a pluralized

My authenticated users send whatever they want without any filtering, scoring, scanning for virii (that is Latin plural for virus). But if there is problem created by my user, it definitely will be properly addressed, with user, in person.
