verbiage suggestion
It occurs to me that it would probably avoid a LOT of newbie confusion
if instead of "bytes written" and "bytes read", the stats said "bytes
sent" and "bytes received". Anybody who doesn't know better intutively
tends to grasp "bytes written" as what got written *to the hard drive*
rather than what got sent over the pipe.

Dumb Centos 8 DNF mirror question...
...ill go through and update all of them and one of them will get a slow
mirror, like downloading the kernel at 50kb etc. With the newer version I
am unable to figure out how to force it to update the mirror list and
hopefully change to a faster mirror. I have searched but must not be using
the right verbiage since I am unable to find the easy solution to dump the
mirrors and re-select.
Thanks :)

Wineboot: useless dialog
...TTEXT, WM_SETTEXT, 0, (LPARAM)buffer );
HeapFree( GetProcessHeap(), 0, buffer );

Why is this there?
I'm still dedicated to the UNIX philosophy: If there is no error, be quit.
I didn't like that wine is getting more and more this verbiage used in windows.

Please, please, let this things away. Do wine in a chaste and simple way.
Thanks a lot!

Puppet Windows: Spaces in file paths a problem?
I thought I read somewhere in Puppet docs/wiki... that it is
"recommended" to avoid spaces in file paths, or some similar verbiage,
but now I cant find it.
Does Puppet have any known issues with spaces in file paths? It would
of course scare Windows admins away... So I hope I am wrong in
thinking I read that.
Thanks a lot,
Mohamed.

wow, that's great news. please keep us up to date; when it's
official I can put some verbiage on the flac site about it.
as far as I know phatbox is the first with working flac support
in consumer gear.

crashing ext3 is easy and reproducible
...g I've seen was putting two of them into a script

I've never had it fail to crash when run manually.
I wonder if a time delay is part of it???
The crash occurs in the rm -rf statement and produces enough verbiage
as to scroll the top of the oops off the top of the screen.

ActionWebServices
Is there a problem with Direct Web Services on Windoze?
A routing error occurs with simple controller/api configs as
described in the AWDwR text. route.rb has a wsdl route, but
I would like to scaffold it to render either wsdl or ws
functions from localhost:3000/ctrlr/invoke or localhost:3000/ctrlr/wsdl.

I *don't* need form based windows for doing analyses. I am quite

I generate.
Sorry for the extensive verbiage....

Large file - match process taking days
...why some large files are taking a long time

I've added logging to verbose level 4. The output from match.c is at the

I'll leave this to JF to answer. I'm not knowledgeable enough about
non-temporals to answer without substantial research first.

Then of course, I'd need to figure an easy (preferably automatic) way
of adding the date to the objects I was interested in. However, I was
hoping someone might already have a better way of achieving the same
end, and preferably without the unnecessary verbiage mentioned above.
Ideas gratefully accepted.
Thanks

Cisco 7960 firmware upgrade promblems
I have a second-hand 7960 which I am attempting to upgrade to use a SIP

The phone currently has a firmware release which doesn't seem to be listed
in Cisco docs - P003AM30. On reboot, it finds the tftp server and requests
the firmware image listed in OX79XX.txt correctly, displaying "Upgrading
Software" on the screen. It then continues to re-request the same image from
