Help with faq verbage
Can somebody tell me what this means? [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver] "ClientSideWithRender"="N" Place above in text file and it can be inserted into registry by "regedit settings.txt". It is the answer to "bad text in config screen" in the faq section. Does this mean that there is a file someplace called software\wine\x11 driver? Is

problem with INSTALL file
I'm reporting a problem with documentation for openssh 3.7 portable. In the INSTALL file it says in the configure section: --with-md5-passwords will enable the use of MD5 passwords. Enable this if your operating system uses MD5 passwords without using PAM. The above verbage implies that if you use PAM there's no need to use the --with-md5-passwords option. This, I have discovered, is not true, at least on Redhat linux systems. When using PAM and MD5 passwords, you must use the above configure option AND the --with-pam option. If you don't, you won't...

problem using 'winbind nss info =' statement
...6-726479814-926709054-4514 MSOE+detertj 1 # Since i successfully use nss_ldap on other boxen, relying on sfu from MsAD, I'm inclined to believe that the problem isn't with sfu on the MsAD DCs. Btw, this is with samba and winbind v3.0.21a. Here's the pertinent smb.conf verbage when I'm NOT using 'nss info = sfu': winbind enum groups = yes winbind enum users = yes winbind separator = + winbind nested groups = yes winbind use default domain = yes idmap gid = 10000-35000 idmap uid = 10000-35000 template homedir = /home/%D/%U templat...

[PATCH] virtio-balloon: Avoid using the word 'report' when referring to free page hinting
From: Alexander Duyck <alexander.h.duyck at linux.intel.com> It can be confusing to have multiple features within the same driver that are using the same verbage. As such this patch is creating a union of free_page_report_cmd_id with free_page_hint_cmd_id so that we can clean-up the userspace code a bit in terms of readability while maintaining the functionality of legacy code. Ctrl-Alt-F? bindings broken under xen 3.0.3-142.el5_9.1 / 2.6.18-348.1.1.el5xen?
...? bindings are broken on 64-bit xen desktop machine (but not on my laptop (32-bit, no xen)). Both machines are (mostly) up-to-date and running CentOS 5.9. I rarely hop to different Virtual Consoles (eg Ctrl-Alt-F1 ... Ctrl-Alt-F7), but today I wanted to go to the main console to watch some kernel verbage (I was checking something with hot-swap SATA disk). I discovered that I could not switch back to my X11 session (Ctrl-Alt-F7)! I did some googling, but did not find anything. So far as I can tell, I can switch to one of the other VT (Ctrl-Alt-Fn) *from* VT7 (my X11 session), but cannot then switc...

Metadata Swapping: How do they do it?
...y in iTunes, for example, is swapping between what in status.xsl would be Stream Title and Current Song. If Song is updated like so: http://admin:password@myserver.pulverradio.com:8000/admin/metadata? mount=/high.mp3&mode=updinfo&song=ACDC+Back%20In%20Black ...then what exactly is the verbage to update StreamTitle? http://admin:password@myserver.pulverradio.com:8000/admin/metadata? mount=/high.mp3&mode=updinfo&StreamTitle=PulverRadio ...doesn't work. My (potentially misguided) belief is that the client downloads/receives the latter attribute once, on initially connect...

Debian does as well in '/usr/share/common-licenses/' for the purpose of not having to include the full LICENSE and/or COPYING file with every package that uses a common open source license, allowing the use of verbage such as "The Debian packaging is ? 2010 [author] and is licensed under the Apache License version 2.0. On debian and derived systems, see `/usr/share/common-licenses/Apache-2.0' for the complete text." The R manual for writing extensions suggests a similar approach to avoiding duplic...

ACL's vs Share definitions (Trying again)
...by being in the smb.conf file? I don't see my printer as a resource, domain or other,to choose from in the security tab from within windows. I did read the April 21 2003 version of the howto and these things were not clear to me. After I figure them out I would be happy to give you some verbage if you would care to have it. Thanks again Samba folks Doug P (Previous reference below) I'm really struggling with ACL's and permissions. I have a share owned by a user (douglas). Douglas can read, write and create to the share: [someshare] comment = Public Stuff path = /hom...

route information
...ses 3 intermediate machines before getting to the final destinations (I'm sure others create tunnels that are much deeper). To debug a problem, it would be helpful to see each connection being made. ssh -v[v[v]] doesn't display the hostnames (or I'm missing it in all the other verbage). To farther build upon that, showing ping times between each host and total ping time between the source and destination would be great! Standard ping and traceroute programs don't provide this information because they don't follow the ssh route/tunnel but instead use the standard...

verbiage suggestion
It occurs to me that it would probably avoid a LOT of newbie confusion if instead of "bytes written" and "bytes read", the stats said "bytes sent" and "bytes received". Anybody who doesn't know better intutively tends to grasp "bytes written" as what got written *to the hard drive* rather than what got sent over the pipe. Jim Salter JRS

I am using <a href="#" onclick="Effect.toggle(''one'',''slide''); return false;"> and everything is working fine. I began experimenting to see what other than click here verbage can trigger the effect and images do work. I tried inserting the object code of a SWF file. While the Flash movie does display it negates the effect. There is no error however. I also tried with a SWF file that had the Active Content Update. I then tried calling the file in the HREF by pathing to...

IMAPS + Outlook
Hi, We have been using Dovecot 1.0 to serve Maildir format over IMAPs to a client with an office of around 30 people, and a remote office of 10, all using Outlook 2003. While users in the base office (location of server) are not having issues with the server users in the remote office are often having problems with Outlook freezing, or not being able to connect. The dovecot log shows them logging
