Noise with Grandstream/PSTN
Up until yesterday I've had a lot of high pitched noise when connecting
a BT101 to the PSTN via the X100P. I was using an Asus A7V133 with raid
motherboard and an 850 AMD Duron. Over the weekend I thought I'd try
another machine. I had an HP Vectra 400 Mhz PII MMX with 128 Mb RAM
available, today no noise at all.
Now I must see if the Vectra is up to the job.

problems booting isolinux
Hello List,
I have used isolinux for years without problems. Recently I decided to
upgrade from 3.09 to 3.11. Every CD I create can be read on my Vectra
(Pentium 3)
and all other Pentium 3 boxes, but all my Pentium 4 boxes will not
boot (they ignore
the CD and boot from hard disk). The bochs VM will boot the CDs fine
just like the
Pentium 3 machines. I have tried 3.09 (which worked before) and 3.10, 3.10pre1,
3.10pre3, 3.10pre5, 3.10pre10, 3.11....

setup problems
Hi folks --
I'm trying to share out my home directory and one other directory from
an SGI O2 running IRIX 6.3 to an HP Vectra running Win NT 4.0. I'm
having some problems and would appreciate a hand.
I've read the man pages, DIAGNOSIS.txt, the FAQ, and most of the other
documents in the distribution. My problem is probably a simple
configuration issue, but I haven't been able to get to the bottom of it

Terrible audio quality using Asterisk and X-Lite?
Greetings! I have made great progress thanks to this
group. My Asterisk seems to be working for the most
part. I am using the following equipment/software:
* HP Vectra VL - Pentium Pro CPU - 256MB RAM
* Redhat Linux 8 - Loaded straight from distro CDs as
Developer Workstation - latest updates from RHN
* Asterisk (latest as of two weeks ago when I used CVS
checkout)
* X-Lite SIP Client on a Windows 2000 PC
* 10 Base-T network between the PC and the Asterisk

QOS Device?
Here is the situation:
A T1 router going into an office which then plugs into the firewall box then
into the switch.
None of these devices support QOS..
Is there some sort of box/device that I can place between the T1 router and
the firewall box which will allow me to prioritize voice traffic on this
link?
I can't change the T1 router to something that supports QOS because it has

Wildcard x100p and Redhat 9.0: Unable to get parameters
Hi folks
Seems really simple but run out of ideas:
1. Used Redhat 9 Packages for Asterisk
2. Zaptel one didn't work so recompiled zaptel from cvs against my kernel

3. Compile is fine no depmod problems/ugly message etc.

Can't boot NT floppy
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your exceptional work.... I guess many people dealing with
bootable CD's just could'nt do anything without isolinux...
However I've got a small problem.
In fact the problem is maybe due to my BIOS (Phoenix on an HP Vectra VL800),
and maybe due to isolinux / memdisk, I don't know.
Generally speaking, take any floppy, format it under Win2K, copy from your
hard drive boot.ini, ntldr and ntdtect.com and you've goot a bootable
floppy, which allows you to start win 2K.
This works perfectly.
Now if I make an imag...

Firewalling SMTP
I have a Centos server and I want to only accept mail for the local users
from 3 mail servers, but I still want the users to be able to send emails
through this server, If I firewall the SMTP port to my 3 mail servers is
there any way users will be able to still send via the main POP server ?
(currently using Sendmails SMTP-Auth)
Thanks

SIP behind NAT (*sigh*)
...tream or something, because once I try to dial, it gives me a
busy/congestion tone after a couple of tries (looking at the debug info).
The context is set properly, and I have tried to enable port-forwarding of
the RTP port toward the ATA, but no luck so far..
Maybe one of you has an idea ?

Hardware advice please?
I am quite new to Linux and have moved (almost) from a windoze
NT4 environment.
My present configuration is running SuSE V 8.0 with KDE3.0.5
desktop on two machines, connecting with Samba to an NT4 PC,
and an occasional laptop or other PC that connects locally to the
network.
After a deal of searching, researching, and seeking advice I have
decided to use Shorewall as my firewall.

The ogg stream is running at around 30 kbps/11 kHz in stereo. The WMA

The ogg stream is being encoded on an old Pentium 166 mmx (a HP Vectra,

they use, however, Windows 2000/XP won't even boot on an old Pentium 166

WCFXO echo rexolved for me
Hello,
I resolved my echo issue using grandstream/estara etc etc sip phones and
wcfxo interfaces from digium. I swapped out my via kt400 based msi kt4vl
motherboard for an asus p4pe? i845? based motherboard and the echo has
completly gone away along with aggressive suppressor option in the makefile.
I hope this helps others.
