Planning Asterisk
Hello, I'm planning to convert my phone system to Asterisk, as I've outgrown my TalkSwitch system. I have a few questions for experienced * users, most of which can be answered yes/no. Current Setup: - Talkswitch 48NLS (4CO/8Ext) phone system. - One CO line, two Vonage lines, one Voicepulse line connected to phone system - A third Vonage line directly connected to a fax machine - A

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas from the Colorado Organization for Victims' Assistance. Our (Comdial) PBX fried after a power failure. Thanks to Mark Spencer, Digium, VCCH, and the friends who support this group, we are now back "on the air". We wish everyone good health for the coming year.

VOIP phonesets vs. cheap Analog touch-tone sets with Asterisk
Hello-- I've been asked an interesting question, and I'm too ignorant to answer it authoritatively (yet). Can anyone help me? Question: If I'm going to implement a somewhat small (10-80) phone system, and I have a choice of using VOIP phoneset (like SNOM or Grandstream or Cisco, etc), vs. cheap analog touch-tone phones, exactly what features will I kiss goodbye if I use the cheap

Asterisk on Cygwin?
Hey all, quick question: does asterisk work okay in a Cygwin environment? I want to install it on my cygwin setup for local testing/demoing and save me the hassle of using a pure linux machine........ As long as it doesn't take a huge huge performance hit from running out of Cygwin, then I'll have a go there for a start confirmation appreciated! thanks -- C h r i s E a r

Qs about FXO/FXS cards
Hello. I am going to be putting together my first * system using FXO/FXS interfaces. All the systems I have set up thus far have been pure VoIP setups. The system I need to set up should have 3 FXO interfaces and 1 FXS interface, as well as several SIP phones.
