Natural Selection 2 (engine test) + wine 1.1.43
I usually don't mess with wine -- the program either works or it doesn't. That being said, I would like to get this game to run if possible.
This is the output from console. It says that openal-soft needs to be upgraded to v1.12 but I'm at v1.12.854-5.1.
Any help is appreciated.

Problem with a barplot...
Hello,
I'm having a bit of a problem with a plot, and I'm hoping that someone might
be able to help. I'm running the R Cocoa Gui v1.12 on OS X 10.4.2, and I'm
doing a stacked bar plot. The plot itself is quite simple:
barplot(as.matrix(s.strats.in),main="Strategy when strong", col=strat.col)
where s.strats.in is a matrix with a number of rows that define the height

[nbdkit PATCH] filters: Bump API version
We do not promise API compatibility for filters between stable
releases of nbdkit, however, we should at least ensure that when we do
break API, that we refuse to load a filter compiled against one
version of nbdkit with another server running a different API. A
single bump once per stable release is good enough (rather than once
per API change).
We did this correctly for commits

problem loading initrd
Hi,
I am trying to load kernel 2.6.6 on a Soekris net4521 from the network
using PXE. I built my initrd with mkinitrd. RedHat nash (while running
linuxrc) hangs after mounting /proc and says "Creating block devices". I
am using the pxelinux.0 from the syslinux-2.10 distribution and the kernel
and initrd were built on redhat 9.0. I built my kernel with BLK_DEV_RAM,

samba 3.4.8 solaris 10 no windows security tab
I recently upgraded our samba from version 3.0.13 to 3.4.8. I also changed from security=domain to security=ads with the upgrade. Doing some testing I've found out if a user does not have read access at a minimum on a file or directory either by owning the file, through primary or secondary groups or other permissions on solaris the windows security tab (right clicking on a file or directory

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there.
While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems
I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder.
First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76
on Windows 98 SE.

in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played.

x86_64 - Dom0 will not boot on EMT64
I am unable to boot Dom0 on my IBM eServer BladeCenter HS20, type 8843,
EMT64 blades. I have read reports that Dom0 boots on Opteron boxes, but
on my EMT64 blades, it does not. Has anyone else encountered this
problem on EMT64 hardware?
Here are the errors I am getting:
This is on a SLES 9 box, gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux):

dma_alloc_coherent issue with tg3 in x86_64 build
During boot of dom0, I get the following. Box is remote, so I''m
now waiting for proxy power button pusher ;-) tg3 init fails doing
dma_alloc_coherent (I assume this is from tg3_init_one -> tg3_test_dma ->
pci_alloc_consistent -> dma_alloc_coherent). Looks like an issue with
the amount of memory in dom0. Is this known?
thanks,

compaq v2000 working with correct boot options and compaq r4000 still SLOWWW
Hi,
I have a v2000 compaq laptop. The realtek network and USB on this
machine was not working. After adding to grub.conf
"acpi=off apci=off noacpi noapic"
the v2000 realtek started working and the USB worked fine... Fantastic!
So I thought I would try those same options on my r4000 laptop.
they had no effect.... This AMD turion 64 4000+ rating laptop is still
running SLOWWW...

compaq R4000 update (hogging interrupts)
After a couple hours last night....
doing a "killall -SIGUSR1 cpuspeed" bumps up the /proc/cpuinfo
information for cpu mhz to 2393 Mhz. I did notice a little increase
after that. However, the machine is still sluggish.
I did a "hdparm -c 1 /dev/hda" but really did not notice any difference.
I tried to download fglrx64_6_8_0_8.16.20-1.x86_64.rpm from ati
(also 8.20.8) and get

Uneven CPU speed with CentOS 4.4 on a Mac Pro
Hi list,
I've recently managed to install CentOS 4.4 on an Apple Mac Pro.
Functionality-wise everything works great, but when trying to benchmark
the system, I don't get stable runtimes, they differ by more than 30%.
For example a benchmark run with our PDE solving code takes between 500
and 800 s on the completely unloaded machine.
Suspicious kernel output (complete output attached):
