Command ls blocked on usbdrive
Hi.
In the /etc/fstab I have the next line for an usbdrive (IOMEGA USB 2.0 80
Gb):
/dev/sda1 /media/IOMEGA_HDD vfat
pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0
I mounted the usbdrive with mount /media/IOMEGA_HDD. If I executed an ls
command for one of the directories on the usbdrive (ls /media/IOMEGA_HDD)
there is not problem but if I e...

How to remove an entry in the media table
I messed up the other day when I did a rsync backup to my usb external
drive *but* forgot to mount it (turn it on). So the system appears to
have renamed the correct one (external) to usbdrive1 and created a
directory on the HD, usbdrive.
It has been well over a year since I made that error and have forgotten
the location and name of the table that contains the usbdrive and
usbdrive1 entries.
As I recall, I need to edit the table by removing the usbdrive entry and
renaming usbdriv...

How to stop automount
...t a USB hard drive into service, but find that unless the drive
is connected to my PC the machine won't boot and drops to a shell.
Below is the line I added to fstab. I thought that the option "noauto"
would prevent the machine from trying to mount the drive
/dev/sdb /usbdrive ext3 user,noauto,rw 0 2
What am I doing wrong? Any advice is welcome.

External USB Drive partitioning and formatting
Hi,
I just bought a Seagate 1TB USB drive thinking that I could create a
few partitions in it, format in ext3 fs, then configure bacula to
setup a backup server in my CentOS box and backup my windows and mac
clients.
I have plugged the drive and mounted in /mnt/usbdrive and is seen as
/dev/sdb1 by the OS. The output of df command is:
[root at Production ~]# df

Yes. Do a transfer of the directory in dry-run mode (so no data is
actually copied) and pass

Fstab mounting error
Hi all,
I've googled on this but no luck so far.
I'm using FC4. This works flawlessly:
Mount -t smbfs //host/share /var/mount/hostname/sharename -o
username=username,password=password,domain=DOMAIN,fmask=0777,dmask=0777
However, it fails in fstab when I do:
//host/share /var/mount/hostname/sharename smbfs
username=username,password=password,domain=DOMAIN,fmask=0777,dmask=0777 0 0

Have any of you thought about these things and have a way to do
this sort of thing (keyfile on usbdrive).

Problem with yum on CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core) with 3.10.0-327.36.3.el7.x86_64 kernel
Everyone,
I am at a loss on this problem would appreciate some guidance as to
where to start to fix it.
I noticed that my home gateway server was not being updated with the
new kernel and other software, and when I ran yum it aborted with the
following notices. I tried a yum clean all, but this did not fix the
problem. I thought the problem may be related to one of the repos, but

Wrong parsing in gen-usbhid-subdriver ?
Hi,
I'm trying to generate a skeleton driver with usbhid-ups and
gen-usbhid-subdriver but the output seems to be incorrect. Same
behavior with stable 2.6.5, so I guess there is something wrong with
data coming out of device.
I attached the output of usbhid-ups and gen-usbhid-subdriver from the commands:
drivers/usbhid-ups -DD -u root -x explore -x vendorid=04d8 -a openups
