Specifying a USB Device to use USB2 Controller
Hi all, Can anyone please advise the correct process for defining a USB device to point to a USB 2 Controller? Specifically, how do you define a USB device to use the EHCI controller in a guest xml file? To summarize my problem: I have 1 x USB1 device and 1 x USB2 device that I would like to use from within a Windows XP Guest. If I add the USB2 device (Avid M-box) to the guest machine via Virt-Manager it will not detect in the guest, when I check the libvirt logs for the VM it shows a "Device speed mismatch" error. Which leads me to think that its...

Usage: usbversion=1|2|3 (default=0, no usb controller defined) Specifies the type of an emulated USB bus in the guest. 1 for usb1, 2 for usb2 and 3 for usb3, it is available only with upstream qemu. The old usb and usbdevice parameters cannot be used with this. Changes from v6: - now usbversion cannot be used with usb and usbdevice parameters - now default is 0 (no usb controller defined) Will be used only with usb redirection (from spi...

USB2 passthrough
Hi, I am trying to get a USB device working on a Windows 7 virtual machine, and it needs USB2 to work, so the USB passthrough does not work. I have searched for an answer and either the answer is so obvious I am being thick, or too complicated for anyone to address it. Can I simply do a PCI passthrough of a USB host controller? Would that then give me a whole load of USB2 ports I could...

Centos & USB3
I replaced my development machine with 6 cores, 32 GB etc. I thought it would be simply inserting the existing HDDs and changing /etc/sysconfig/ifcfg-eth0 but, * in the UEFI "BIOS" USB2 and USB3 work. * in C5.11 USB2 works but USB3 does not. * in C6.5 (my install disk; OS be updated to C6.8) USB2 works but USB3 does not. On both C5 and C6 lsusb shows an entry for the plugged-in keyboard (USB2 socket) and for the wireless mouse (USB2 socket) but nothing else. Please does anyone...

Write to USB pendrives horribly slow
Hello there, since I installed CentOS6 few months ago (kept up-to-date using yum), I'm facing very poor performances when writing to USB pendrives. The hardware: a Dell Latitude E6500 laptop (Intel Core Duo P8600 @2.40Ghz), 4Go RAM + 4Go swap, several USB2 pendrives of various brands (less than old, all formatted as vfat). When I perform a copy (with cp or midnight commander, copying big AVI files between 300Mo to 1.4Go) to those devices, whatever the source is on the same device or on another disk, I notice that the CPU activity shows 2 phases as...
