"Communications with UPS advice@localhost lost" when using an other USB device
I use Debian jessie with nut-server 2.7.2-1+b3. Yesterday I've configured it for my new Advice PRS850 (a UPS with USB interface). I also have an USB webcam (and also USB mouse and keyboard, but that doesn't matter). When I start the program Cheese (a program which uses the webcam), I receive the following broadcast message: "Communications with UPS advice at localhost lost" When I exit Cheese, I...

[PATCH]add usb-ver format check to avoid usb-list error and incorrect usb-ver saved into config file
Add usb-ver format check to "usb-hc-create". In original file, "usb-hc-create" allows usb-ver parameter as "2/2.0/2.0aaa". In low level hc create, it only uses the integer part (that is "2"), so there is no problem. But 2/2.0/2.0aaa will be saved into VM config. Af...

Advice Partner PRPC650 - no serial device
Good day! I'm struggling to connect by Advice Partner PRPC650 UPS to Nut. The UPS uses USB for communication and the current problem is that serial device (/dev/ttyUSB*) is not detected. OS is Debian Lenny (same behavior on Ubuntu Hardy). Did anyone have any success with this UPS? Here is what my dmesg and udevmonitor say (on Debian): dmesg: usb 2-3: new low speed USB device using ohci_...

...with shorter timeouts so that the battery doesn't get depleted? You would need to record the exact time when it shuts down, I think. Also, I quickly put together a man page: http://buildbot.networkupstools.org/~buildbot/cayman/docs/r17df4ff7b73aa76d01e168c6d4bc4f017193443a-116/man/nutdrv_atcl_usb.html Let me know if I should add anything. -- Charles Lepple clepple at gmail

[EXTERNAL] Re: Fixing Drops With SMART1500LCDXL & USB-HID Driver
...re: https://alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2019-June/007440.html I’ll keep that thread up to date with progress as I go. But if there are specific things it would make sense to test here, just let me know. Otherwise, I figure reducing redundancy makes sense? 2) I tried disabling usbcore.autosuspend, but that did not seem to stop the drops An example of what I tried is below. I believe simply echo-ing “-1” will change the setting until the next reboot and it should apply to any newly connected devices, so I did that, connected the device to the virtual machine, and checked sysl...

USB device descriptor read error with Eaton 5E UPS
...g Eaton do officially support Linux in their documentation for this product (as well as make their own Linux UPS client) I will see if they are able to fix it. Otherwise I will just have to return it and get another brand. Also do you know how I can log more detailed debug info from the Kernel for USB? Perhaps a dump of all USB data to a file somewhere may make it easier to see exactly what is going on. > When you plug into the non-3.0 ports, what HCD driver is it using? > I generally keep it plugged into the 2.0 ports. USB device descriptor read error with Eaton 5E UPS
Hi, I recently purchased a new Easton 5E UPS. I plugged the USB cable into my computer so I could use the NUT UPS tools. However every so often NUT fails to connect to the device after a boot. Looking at dmesg I see errors like this: [ 3.277075] usb 1-9: new low-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd [ 3.302091] usb 1-9: device descriptor read/8, error...
