Forcing a sspecific stream type
Is it possible to force Icecast to stream in a specific stream type,
such as OGG, regardless of the source or input? For example, if a
streaming client connects to an Icecast server with an MP3 format
stream, can Icecast be forced to send it out as OGG or AAC or anything
else? Or does Icecast simply pass the stream through unconverted?

Hi Steve,
I think you are able to do what you want with liquidsoap.

Forcing a sspecific stream type
That is transcoding.
If you are attempting to achieve good audio quality, this is exactly what you don?t want to do.
This is like taking a .jpg and making another .jpg from it.

Bug in fts (solr?, Maildir?) incorrect last_indexed_uid
Hi,
I thought I should document this.
(Dovecot 2.2.9, see config at bottom.)
I installed dovecot and then converted a
number of mbox mailboxes to Maildir,
and had a number of pre-existing Maildir mailboxes.
I then installed the debian (wheezy) fts-solar
and jetty packages, and tested my inbox
using the "telnet localhost imap

Converting factors back to numbers. Trouble with SPSS import data
I'm using Fedora Core 4, R-2.2.
The basic question is: can one recover the numerical values used in
SPSS after importing data into R with read.spss from the foreign
library? Here's why I ask.
My colleague sent an SPSS data set. I must replicate some results she
calculated in SPSS and one problem is that the numbers used in SPSS
for variable values are not easily recovered in R.

newbie questions
Thanks in advance for your patience and assistance. Since a system
administrator's work is most successful when nobody knows you've done
anything....(ugly that...you get neither raises nor equipment funding as
a result), I prefer to learn from other's experiences rather than fail
in the same pits.
We are considering a switch from UW to Dovecot, since our users persist

two possible inboxes, possible to check both?
We're currently in the process of organising a migration from mbox to maildir mail storage on our server, and are hoping to phase this in gradually using dovecot's capabilities. Procmail has already been configured to deliver mail to either the existing mbox or to a new maildir for the user based on the (non)existence of a .converted file in their home directory. Two problems with DomU reboot (cmdline, duplicate domains)
Hi,
just upgraded my testsystem to 3.0.4 (using the provided source rpm,
xen-3.0.4.1-1.src.rpm, rebuilt it to run on non-PXE but no changes besides
that, and it doesn''t look like the 3.0.4-testing HG has major differences
so far?) and I have two problems with rebooting domains (xm reboot, or
reboot from inside the domain).
1) the kernel-commandline keeps growing. On the first boot
