modules fileserver section
On the module organization wiki, we''re got the following statement:
To control access to the files in modules, the fileserver configuration can
contain an explicit declaration of a ``modules`` module::
... however, I thought the fileserver couldn''t define module or any section
that is in the module paths. Has anyone tried this? And if it doesn''t
work, is there

Turnbull estimate
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a function that calculates the Turnbull estimate
for left, right and interval censored data. None of the data that I am
using has exact failure times. The only function I seem to find can handle
data that has no left censoring. It seems that I will have to program
this myself. In your opinion, is it advisable to start with the
function,...

calculating confidence intervals for the turnbull estimate
Does anyone know of software to calculate confidence intervals for the
non-parametric estimate of the survival distribution when data are
interval censored, ie, for the Turnbull estimate?
Thanks, Soyeon

Question: Do all puppetd run at the same time?
(I know more questions... :-))
I know the default for puppetd is to check puppetmasterd every half
hour, but my question does each puppetd check at the same time? Or
does it depend when puppetd is started or like a cronjob does it run
at the 1/2 hour and hour mark? Is there some randomness to the times
they run?
My point is if they all run at the same time then if you have a large

Node and Class unique naming

and a class called test.
When I run the test node and connect I don''t get an error but no
configuration is applied to the node. Is this normal behaviour or a
bug? If it''s normal behaviour should Puppet tell you about the duplication?

I have a requirement and decided to test puppet on the win32 platform to see

run anything I get

use client''s server variable instead of $servername?
Our puppetmaster runs on a host with multiple interfaces connected to
various private networks, with different hostnames for each IP. I''m
trying to use $servername in modules to copy files over a private
network, but this is always set to the public hostname of the server.
That route is blocked by a firewall. Is there a way to use the server
variable in puppet.conf in manifests?

Sieve not recognizing keywords
First, I've been lurking and using dovecot for a few years now and I've
always liked it, great piece of software! :)
I've finally decided to clean up my act here and get virutal users and
get postfix (2.3), dovecot (1.0.0) and deliver to play nice, using
postfixadmin. I have it 99% there, but one thing is left:
When I receive mails, deliver finds my virtual home dir and then tries

Windows 2000 prompts for password when using unix account on windows 2000 workstation
...n the windows 2000 box so it uses plain text
passwords however when we log in and map the drive, it still wants us to
enter the password for the user.
Why is this so??
Is there a hack for this??
We are not using domains. Does this matter?? Do we need to use a PDC to get
around this.
Thanks

SuSE and zypper
Hi,
I found the zypper provider mentioned on this list in another thread,
but it failes with the flowing error :
Package[kvm]/ensure: change from 0.11.0-4.5.2 to true failed: Could
not update: undefined method `zypper'' for
#<Puppet::Type::Package::ProviderZypper:0x7fd1acf9e360> at
Is the latest provider broken? Is there interest in making this work /
making it complete. I
