Another list I was on had this issue and they tured on an option where the first email had to be moderated. There is a slight additional burden, but it keeps out the spam. In the systems engineering world, we call this spam filtering.. Of note, since I shifted junglist.gen.nz from postfix+amavis +spamassassin+nod32 to Google Apps[1] I''ve seen a considerable reduction in mail slipping through. I couldn''t recommend it enough!
