Weird errors with R CMD check/ggplot2 in examples: how to debug?
...owever, they fail under R CMD check, and
I can neither
diagnose or understand the error (shown below).
How can I debug this? i.e., Is there something I can add to the example
to help track down the cause of these errors?
Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Documenting related data sets
Say I want to include the data from Minard's march on Moscow graphic in
a package. They consist of
three data frames, Minard.troops, Minard.cities, Minard.temp.
I've determined that I can document them all in one .Rd file, Minard.Rd,
that starts:

centos 5 and php53
so whats the scoop on PHP53 for CentOS 5?
I have a long running webserver, runs a bunch of mostly php+postgresql
stuff, mostly hobby sites (clubs and local scout troops and such). has
latest updates to php 5.2.10-xx but I want to install something thats
insisting on php53. If I try and yum install php53, it says it
conflicts with php-5.2.10 ...
ok, do I remove the old PHP and install the one one? does that stand
a reasonable chance of not blowing up...

Medieval total war
I installed the game - Medieval total war. It seems everything works fine, but there is one problem. When launching the game. I saw the screen does not display military unit or any other game related stuff (e.g. forest, casstle, troop, etc.) It only shows a screen that contains grass and a blue something like sea.
Though when clicking the military unit, I can see green spots on the ground

mouse problem in homm3
HEy,
i recently bought heroes of might and magic 3.
I installed ist with wine 1.3.28. The installation worked just fine and the game is running.
However, as soon as i go into my stronghold and try to buy troops, my mouse dosn't work anymore. I can still move it, but i can't click any buttons.

I have a Domain login configuration, but do not want server based
profiles. After I add a workstation to the domain, the user profiles,
created during the first login of a domain user, on that machine are

generate the log file if daemonize was used (-d)

FC4 and yum install; how to configure questions
...allowed me to run the command:
# /usr/sbin/asterisk -vvvvc
A bunch of stuff happens, then the prompt returns to the root command.
I'm reading the asterisk book (just started Ch 4), and when I go looking
for a .conf file, it doesn't exist.

Is Mongrel dead? When I look at http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/wiki/News
the latest news was from close to a year ago, when last version of
Mongrel was released. A look at the tickets shows a rather sad picture

Strange behavior with poisosn and glm
Hi,
I'm just learning about poison links for the glm function.
One of the data sets I'm playing with has several of the variables as
factors (i.e. month, group, etc.)
When I call the glm function with a formula that has a factor variable,
R automatically converts the variable to a series of variables with
unique names and binary values.
For example, with this pseudo data:

How come wine doesn't improve?
Even though wine versions get released often and the weekly newsletters
seem to report progress I get the impression that wine is not really
improving.
Of course it happens that some applications work with newer wine
versions which didn't work with older ones, but at the same time old
applications stop working.
