listing parents from child conditon
Hi, How can I grab all parents in a table, depending on a condition in the children table ? Fx. def list @projects = Project.find(:all) end will find all projects in my table. Now let''s say I want show a similar list, for all open projects.. I define an open project, as all lines (Line has belongs_to :Project) that do not yet have a closed_at timestamp set. So basically, I want

Status of OpenSSL 1.1 support - Thoughts
As far as I can see, here is a summary of the situation, and there's a point to this, but I only make it in step (4), needing the first three steps to set up a background to keep my own thoughts clear: 1) Fedora (via Jakub) shows it's possible to patch OpenSSH. 2) OpenVPN (via gert) shows it's possible to build a 'shim' of sorts that allows code to work with libreSSL and

[CentOS-announce] Release for CentOS Linux 7 (1503 ) on x86_64
...ood laugh, smile, and enjoy your Friday!) I am as pressed for time as anyone else on this list; I especially feel Matt Phelps' pain, as part of an educational institution where funding and staffing is never enough. But there has to be a bar to meet so that feedback given is useful and not trollish. I would suggest that a periodic informational FAQ be added to the monthly mailman reminders for the CentOS lists that can give a pointer to those who would like to give feedback, or help out, or otherwise do something to benefit the project as a whole. I would also suggest that changes to the...

Nothing seems to work..
I just downloaded and installed the 2001-05-10 release of wine, and nothing seems to work. Examples; SimEarth can't install. Crashes immediatly. SimCity draws everything in funky colors and then breaks. SimLife can't load files, and you can't select options in the drop-down boxes. MechWarrior3 crashes on install; hangs while copying the sound data. Internet Explorer, which somehow

Offtopic Posts [was Re: [OT] Memory Models and Multi/Virtual-Cores -- WAS: 4.0 -> 4.1 update failing]
...; discussion that sheds some light on it. People are building servers with CentOS. This stuff is pertinent. I do _not_ introduce it myself, but when it comes up, I _will_ offer my recommendations based on experience and background. If you see people only as "feeding" my so-called "trollish nature," then maybe that's a sign you're not looking at the real issue. I'm not innocent, and I'll _never_ claim to be. But some others are very guilty of wanting many tangents and are posting just as much as I in a thread! Think about it. ;-> -- Bryan J. Smith mailto:...

what is wine good for?
well if you think this is trolling youre probably right. but. there is a but. i've been using wine since years, from time to time, i compiled it, tried various versions both precompiled and source up to the present day. now i give up. wine is unusable. period. dont want to say it is a piece of crap because of all the hard work that is behind, but it is irritating to say the least. seriously

ClearOS rebuild
This week's FLOSS Weekly interview is about ClearOS (audio/video at http://twit.tv/floss168). Apparently they have taken the CentOS developer's frequently given advice to go away and do it yourself and will have a 'ClearOS core' release that is their own rebuild from Red Hat sources that will be the base for the ClearOS enterprise distribution instead of relying on CentOS as

Apache config help needed
Hi all, I''m (STILL) plugging away trying to get rails to work under Apache2 Rails 0.9.5 Apache 2, OS Mandrake Linux 10.1 Apache is already running other stuff on /pluto/ and /localhost/ so I wish to install a new virtual host for rails to avoid upsetting anything. Added rails to my hosts file, and edited conf/Vhosts.conf to contain NameVirtualHost 192.168.0.254 <VirtualHost

RE: Rails Digest, Vol 19, Issue 784

While he is trollish, he does have a point. A lot of decisions made by C-level folk require a Gartner and Forrester report before it ends up as part of the picture. Look how long it has taken for Linux to become accepted as an "enterprise" solution. Rails will eventually cross that hump, but it''ll...

RFC #3: Improving license & patent issues in the LLVM community
Hello everyone, This email is a continuation of a discussion started in October 2015, and continued in September 2016: http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2015-October/091536.html http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2016-September/104778.html As with those emails, this is a complicated topic and deals with sensitive legal issues. I am not a lawyer, and this email is not intended to be
