ready to toss the towel | lapack and 2.9.0
Well, I've now tried just about every permutation I can think of -
including using the ATLAS lapack (instead of generic), in various
combinations with ACML, or generic BLAS, or ATLAS blas. No matter what I
do, so long as I have lapack of any flavour, I get the 'stats error'
with make check. And, it always seems to throw the error at the same
point in the stats test file (an svd in

I'm FED UP with BroadVoice
After months of BroadVoice ignoring my trouble tickets for dropped calls,
delayed termination, etc., I'm throwing in the towel. While they have
credited $19.95 to my account, they refuse to credit anything more, despite
ALL of the problems I've had. I feel the least they could do is credit the
remaining $8.61 to my account, yet they won't.
I haven't really been following up on porting between VoIP providers, b...

OT: DOE - experiments for teaching
Hi,
I'm sorry for this not being related to R but I think this is a good
place to ask. I'm looking for DOE examples(experiments) that can be done
at home or in class, such as Paper Helicopter, Paper Towel etc.. I'm
thankful for any comment.

I read something about turning off and disabling NetworkManager. I haven't
done this.
I'm getting ready to throw in the towel. If I can't set this up to at least
access the VM from the LAN, I can't test CentOS 7 and the software I want to
run. It makes it very hard to setup and configure with vi.
Thanks!

OpenSolaris Sparc Xen boot problem
...sor, as described here
But when I follow that link, I get:
"You are not allowed to view this document or perform this action"
Can someone please point me to the most recent documentation for getting
Xen running on OpenSolaris build 134 (Sparc)?
I''m about ready to throw in the towel.
Thank you,
Steve.

An unconstructive grumble
5 hours of configuration attempts, error after confusing error, documentation
with examples that only show extracts of working configurations. I really
feel like throwing in the towel with dovecot.
It should not be this hard and frankly almost impossible to understand and
configure for such an incedibly simple configuration.

To Try or to TryCatch, I have tried to long
So after about 4 hours struggling with Try and TryCatch I am throwing in the
towel. I have a more complicated function that used logspline through
iterative distributions and at some point the logspline doesnt function
correctly for some subsets but is fine with others so I need to be able to
identify when the error occurs and stop curtailing the distribution and I
think this Tr...

Plot problems: xlim
Hi,
Still fresh in R, tried to figure this out, now on my second day running with no luck (and a pile of hair on my desk) so
I have thrown in the towel and would like to ask for some help.
Here is what I am trying to do. I am trying to plot a distribution, I have 99 points, bound in the range
xlim.min: -0.0173
xlim.max: 0.02103
However, I have a value outside this range (0.2454959) which I would like to add to the plot as a line and to do this...

Socket 478 Motherboard for use with TDM400P
Well, it has been a long saga over here trying to get a TDM400P to work
with an Intel D845HV motherboard, and the towel is close to being thrown
in. Does anyone know of a (few) motherboards that work well with the
TDM400P and are socket 478?

SPA 3000 won't relay DTMF to doorphone
Hello,
Before throwing in the towel with my Sipura 3000 has anyone had much
success with that adapter connected to a door phone?
In our setup a doorphone is connected to the SPA's fxs port. When a
visitor rings, asterisk calls a group of Polycoms and the person who
answers has to enter *1 to trigger the door opening.
However...

Samba 2.2.8a and 3.0.0
...from the experts on what you've done already to improve internal
performance as my approach is to improve cache hit ratio and translation
look-aside.
I've already tuned every piece of hardware to my abilities and even
implemented write-behind algorithms. I'm basically wringing out the towel
to see if there are any drops of peformance left to be found.
Are there any internal limitations with the TDB's, et al, where there may
be an upper bound on concurrent smbd's?
Also are there any internal performance enhancements for smbpasswd files
of >15000 entries?
We are looking at...

Multiple workgroups : Multiple Subnets
I am still trying to make samba work over a WAN with multiple workgroups
although I am just about to throw in the towel. I had hoped to find a solution
that would permit a Windows PC to browse a (MS) workgroup (ie retrieve the
browse list from the workgroup master browser for a remote (MS) workgroup when
that MB is NOT a samba server). Since WINS only provides the broadcast
address of the remote LMB and that broad...

Addressing the problem of noisy GPUs under Nouveau
...quiet. I
managed to improve the pass rate from 97 to 99.6%, but the remaining
failures conflict with my previous findings, which are also way more
prevalent. In the end, the only completely-safe way of driving the fan
is the current behaviour of nouveau...
At this point, I am ready to throw in the towel and hardcode parameters
in nouveau to address the problem of the loudest GPUs, but this is of
course suboptimal. This is why I am asking for your help. Would you have
some documentation about this fan calibration table that could help me
here? Code would be even more appreciated.
Thanks a lot in a...

[cfe-dev] Revisiting our informal policy to support two versions of MSVC
I'd like to revisit this. As a person who spends a fair amount of time
monitoring our VS 2013 buildbots, I would say that I am ready to throw in
the towel on MSVC 2013. Since this discussion, I have committed five (!)
workarounds for MSVC 2013:

wxruby, XRC, DialogBlock
I''ve been trying to figure out the best method for generating GUI''s with
Ruby. I ended up using DialogBlock because it seems like the fastest
way. But not I have to work backwards and have not done this before.
How do I go from the file I generate in DialogBlock to a code in Ruby?
