Tortoise CVS download for Asterisk Docs
http://www.asteriskdocs.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=4 Can I make a suggestion that some documentation is provided for the Tortoise CVS download of the asterisk docs. I've tried every combination and I cant get it to work. I'm assuming it must work otherwise it wouldn't have been listed but for 60 seconds more work it would be a bigger benefit to the asterisk community. Cheers, Dean --------------...

Windows MSI file installation
...nd the occasional foulup - losing sound intermittently was unexpected, although this may be due to the presence of an Audigy sound card, which despite being recognised and configured, nevertheless is not currently providing sound output - the main board is. However, one of the utilities he wants is Tortoise SVN, a version control facility which provides access to some patches. It only comes as an ".msi" file, a windows shell extension. Wine doesn't like this directly through a console command - if it can be handled, is there a method written up anywhere?

TortoiseCVS
Hi, I'm trying to use TortoiseCVS under Linux (through Wine). I'd like to eventually write some shell scripts to invoke it properly from Nautilus but that is still a ways off. Some of Tortoise's functionality works, like enumerating the code modules in the CVS repository. However, actually checking out code...

Version naming to use in a RoR proyect
Hi everyone, I would need to know if RoR follow any policy for version naming; I mean, something like linux´s kernel does or similar. For instance, kernel uses numbers separated in groups by dots (i.e. pre 2.6 - AA.BB.CC). These groups mean differents fixtures, bugs fixed... I will start a big proyect from scratch with rails and I want to choose now a standart to use and avoid future problems

Using SVN + SSH on windows
Hi the list, I try to use R-Forge for developping a projet. I am using tortoise SVN (last version) but I do not manage to Commit. I read the R-Forge user Manual and some post on but I do not manage to find the solution. Here is what I did: 1/ I download 'puttygen.exe'. I generate a key (256 bits). 2/ I save the private key in a file 'private.ppk' on my c...

Disabling lookup for /homedir
...nly can do svn. I want to disable the lookup for a home-dir because i don't need it for svn. when i disable the autofs (solaris) ssh tells me everytime i send a svn-request "could not chdir..." but the command succeeds. that's not the main problem: when i try svn with a tool like tortoise it fails because of the missing home-dir - everything works fine when autofs is enabled. To solve this behavior, i uncommented the part of the check for homedir in session.c (the part where the output "Could not chdir home.." is defined) but i am not sure if this is a "clean" w...

OS for rails development: Windows vs. Mac?
Caveat: this is not a discussion about *hosting* a rails app on windows. Anyway...Macs are everywhere you look when researching rails (demo vids, tutorials, and pictures from rails training classes). I''m interested in what the pros to using a Mac for rails development are (besides textmate). Is it more of a cultural thing, a what would 37 signals do thing, is it a unix thing, or

Setting up TortoiseSVN and PuTTY on Windows for r-forge.r-project.org (Was: Re: Using SVN + SSH on windows)
Here are some notes/observations I've done on my setup that works for me. Hopefully it will be added to some r-forge documentation/wiki. I use: Windows Vista Business SP2 32bit TortoiseSVN 1.6.7 (Build 18415 - 32 Bit , 2010/01/22 17:55:06) PuTTY v0.60 (with Pageant v0.60) I have a deprecated r-forge project ('r-oo') that I will use through out. My r-forge username is 'henrikb'. The URL root to this project is: svn+ssh://henrikb at svn.r-forge.r-project.org/svnro...

Also, ti/user_misc.h should be replaced by the similar ti/os_support_custom.h file, which is also attached. I remember your having some trouble reading my patches (from Tortoise SVN) before, so let me know if I need to format this differently for you to use it. Which version control system to learn for managing Rprojects?
...are subversion plugins for vim, Emacs, Eclipse and likely many other editors and IDEs. There may be plugins for some of the other version control systems too. 5. Windows Explorer. There are Windows explorer extensions for Subversion, Mercurial, Git and Bazaar. The Subversion and Mercurial "Tortoise" extensions are reasonably mature. I believe the Git and Bazaar Tortoise extensions are newer. 6. Client vs. Server and Installation. With subversion you typically use a subversion repository on a remote system to host your software and you only install client software. You can use the com...

Which version control system to learn for managing R projects?
Hello all, I wish to learn a version control system for managing my R (data analysis) projects. I know of SVN and github, and wonder if there is any reason for which I should prefer the one over the other (or any other platform). An example for a reason could be if it will make it easier for me to later work with R-forge or CRAN or any other platform for R code distribution. Thanks, Tal
