Program needs IE4 installed - how tho handle?
Hi group,
I want to install a SW-package. This needs IE4 to be installed. The
installation aborts with an error and popups a message, that IE4 needs to
be installed before the installation can continue.
How can I handle this? Is there a trick that do this? I don't see any
advantage of IE4 on my Linux box.
Andy.

basic auth fails
Hello,
I've setup apache basic auth on by web server to protect my nagios
site. It's been working just fine, but suddenly it stopped accepting
passwords even tho they are being typed in correctly. I was wondering
if I could get some advice on how to troubleshoot this?

mwi for voicemail not showing up for realtime config.
Hello ppl,
Am using realtime odbc storage for voicemail, sip users/peers, static
for extensions and so on.
My issue is I am not getting MWI for any fones, even tho I've got
rtcachefriends=yes in sip.conf
WIth tcpdump, I always see the NOTIFY going as
Messages-Waiting:.no
Voice-Message:.0/0.(0/0)
even tho there are legitimate voicemails in the INBOX path for that
particular users in the db.
Any ideas, wot else shud i check for?
TiA.

Latest CVS (7/20/2004) stops answering SIP calls after 5 min
...ve also noticed that no matter what I set default_expiry to in sip.conf,
it starts at that number and then jumps to 44 seconds... not sure where it's
getting the number 44 from, it seems to use that all the time...
Just wanted to check and see if anyone else is experiencing similar
problems. I thought about submitting a bug report, but I don't know enough
about what's going on yet to do that...
If it helps, I'm using BroadVoice as a SIP provider. I have to go back to
about CVS 7/11/04 for * to start answering calls properly...
I'm still not really sure where the problem lie...

move mail from server with v1.0 to server w. v2.1?
I'm about to replace my old server. Both servers are on my internal network.
The old one ist running debian lenny(32bit) with dovecot 1.0.15 and the
new one debian Wheezy with dovecot 2.1.7.
I set up the users on both systems identically (same gid uid).
My first attempt was tho simply rsync the Maildirs along with the homes.
Both deovecot versions are set up with the maildir format, but this
results in ~30% doublicated mails on the new server.
I then learned about doveadm/dsync, only to figure out that this isn't
available in v 1.0.15 and therefor won't work.

H.264 *Not Patented*
The H.264 codec patent by Qualcomm has been ruled invalid by a San
Diego Federal jury:
http://www.eetimes.com/news/semi/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=197001066 .
That means that H.264 codecs can now be written, distributed and revised
freely under any license their authors choose, including GPL, public
domain, or any other, and $free now that royalties are no longer
required.
How does H.264 compare with GSM and G.729 in CPU demand (MIPS:Kbps) and
audio quality at low bitrates? GSM is $free, but G.729 is higher quality
(tho patented with at least $10 per running c...

Unable to get syslinux.efi to work, grub2 boots tho
Hi,
I am trying to get a UEFI bootable USB. And I am unable to make it
working. I have two x86_64 systems and both of them 'hangs' when I
choose to boot UEFI from USB.
I've created fat32 formated partition with ef00 type. I placed EFI/BOOT
there with content of efi64/ distribution, I've created syslinux.cfg and
renamed syslinux.efi to BOOTX64.EFI.
However, it does just

Scheduled Ogg streams for testing
Well we're testing scheduled Ogg streaming, but it would be nice to
test with an audience bigger then me and a few irc users, so I thought
I'd drop a note to the list.
http://support.bbc.co.uk/oggstreams.shtml
This will contain any scheduled tests to come and anything currently
being streamed. For scheduled stuff, only things we're given
permission to do by producers can go on there, so don't get too excited

R on 64-Bit…
...exploring my options and would appreciate
your expertise:
1) Windows 64-bit: Prof. Brian Ripley recently posted the experimental
built of R for win 64-bit. I’ll appreciate any feedback on anyone who has
been testing this. He also mentioned that for now, “...this as only being of
interest for those who only use a few relatively simple packages”. But if
one uses packages beyond those “relatively simple”, how possible is today to
have those installed?
2) MacOS or Unix. Sorry for my ignorance on this…but if I use any of
these environments on 64-bit and installed R on any of those, thi...
