Railsters:
I have finally gotten back to Rails, and I''m having the usual "a
little bit too flexible for your own good" problems.
Specifically, the above in my Haml renders this:
<a href="/thang/frob" data-remote="true">Frob</a>
I need href=''#'' and an Ajax call.
What did I do wrong? (Besides, ahem, attempt to read the fine manual?)
I have to use Rails 3.0.8, BTW...

Windows XP and Samba 2.2.7a Print drivers--they upload fine, but driver list for printers is emtpy.
.../usr/bin/lprm -P%p %j
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
printable = yes
browseable = yes
printer admin = root @users
[print$]
path = /srv/printers
guest ok = yes
browseable = yes
read only = yes
write list = root
Any ideas what's wrong? Is this an "XP Thang"? And if so, other than
setting up an NT box (which really isn't an option), is there a suitable
workaround?
Thanks!

git .gitignore vs exclude file
...n for the .git/
info/exclude file
what happens if they conflict? which one wins.
What is standard practice?
My exclude file looks like this
# git-ls-files --others --exclude-from=.git/info/exclude
log/*.log
tmp/**/*
.DS_Store
doc/api
doc/app
I am on Hardy Heron, isn''t a .DS_Store a mac thang?
Should that all just be in my .gitignore file, which is empty?
Sorry for so many questions, but I can''t find shit about git on the
internet.(what a twit)
Thanks in advance

2.) there is no man raidtab on this box which is a "everything"

RJS -- What am I missing?
This is driving me nuts:-)
I''ve brought it down to a simplified case where I''m rendering this rjs
template:
page.insert_html :top, ''cat1'', "<li>Some list item</li>"
According to FireBug, this is what I''m actually getting in the browser:
try {

Single Table Inheritance and :conditions
...ss Blurfl is a normal model (table is blurfls)
in cog.rb, I have something like:
def foo
Cog.find(:all, :include=>''blurfl'', :condition=> ["cogs.status =
''Active''"]
end
So we''re joining active cogs and blurfls. Now, and this is the thang,
assume that the blurlfs and cogs tables both have a status column.
The problem is that the conditional statement above won''t work. There
isn''t a cogs table. And I have to qualify the column name since it
exists in blurfls and employees.
Rails seems to have all the information...

New Bind Update
I was wondering if the new bind update is going smoothly for those who
have done it?
I've been a little hesitant to run it yet as the last time forced a bit
of time fixing things. I'm trying to plan if I need to have some hours
available for this or if it is like most of the time.. just do it and
everything's ok.
Best,

I''ve been going though the "4 Days on Rails" tutorial at
http://rails.homelinux.org/ test-driving ruby on rails using the WEBrick
server without problems. I''m trying to move the app to be seen by

online which all say pretty much the same thing, which, I think, I am

I'm a newbie in this list, so I don't know if it's the appropriate place
for my question. Anyway, I'd be happy to find out the solution.
Please, has anyone simple answer for:
I'm looking for an exact list of files, which:
1. MUST have...
2. HAVE FROM BSD INSTALLATION...
3. DO NOT NEED...
4. NEVER MAY...

Repeated attacks via SSH
Everyone:
We're starting to see a rash of password guessing attacks via SSH
on all of our exposed BSD servers which are running an SSH daemon.
They're coming from multiple addresses, which makes us suspect that
they're being carried out by a network of "bots" rather than a single attacker.
But wait... there's more. The interesting thing about these attacks
is that

Ferret 0.11.1-rc2
Hey guys,
Just released Ferret 0.11.1. Hopefully this will fix *most* of the
problems people were having. Now that I know gcc hides stack overflows
on Ubuntu because -fstack-protector is set, I won''t get caught by that
one again. Anyone know any other gotchas I should be aware of on
Ubuntu.
Please try the new version and let me know if you are still having
problems with it. I have until
