PXE boot problem
I must be making some silly mistake. I can get the pxelinux.0 file to load, but cannot get the config file to load. I keep getting the message that it is trying to load a file from pxelinux.cfg. I have checked all the file permissions and other instructions. The tftpserver is running on Fedora 5. I have tried to load pxelinux on 2 completely different computers without success.

Typo in "HowTos/PXE/Gparted_PXE"
Dear all, Inside the "HowTos/PXE/Gparted_PXE" wiki document, the "tftproot" directory should be "tftpboot", and the hyphens could be removed in the following line: Add the following lines to the pxelinux-configuration-file (/tftproot/pxelinux.cfg/default by default) Regards, Timothy Lee

Fwd: Polycom phone time behind one hour.
Tried to submit this email this morning and didn't see it in the list. I apologize if it is a dupe. I've inherited a customized Asterisk installation. After the past time change all clocks in my office are behind by one hour. After some digging it appears we have: A /tftproot/sip.conf that is being pushed out to our phones. I found the following line that seems to be what controls timezone information and DST. I put in carriage returns to make it easier to read as it is all one line. Can anyone see anything obvious (I have missed after reviewing many times) with this...

problem booting files with .bin in their name (eg. memtest86+.bin)
It took me forever to figure out why I couldn't tftp boot into memtest86+, I had the file "memtest86+.bin" installed into my tftproot, and it was being loaded when I selected that menu item, but it would result in a series of repeating numbers on the left hand side of the screen. Eventually, after trying a million different things, and then asking someone I know who has fought these problems in the past, he suggested that in th...

PXELINUX and memtest86p weirdness
...unning memtest86+ 4.10 from the newest "Ultimate Boot CD" (isolinux i reckon?) the memtest runs without errors for several passes. But when loaded from PXELINUX it shows several hundred memory errors in just a few minutes. I double checked by copying the memtest-binary from the CD to the tftproot, but when started from PXE errors still occurred. My next try was updating pxelinux to 4.03, but this showed no change. Then the next try was 4.04-pre7, still the same. The motherboards are all Asus M4A89GTD/PRO USB3. and this is consistent on 5 different machines with the exact same hardware and...

hints about modules needed when migrating to newer releases
..."Starting in syslinux 5.00, this bootloader requires additional modules to be loaded at runtime. Please see the syslinux.txt document for more general details." and them maybe suggest more specific hints per type, like: "For pxelinux this means you will also need ldlinux.c32 in the tftproot, and may need dependencies like libutil.c32 if you are using menu.c32." Having something like this would have saved me some time and frustration. Thanks, -- Matt Taggart taggart at debian.org

Howto Setup TFTP server on Linux for Cisco 7 960
Thanks But how about the config files (SIP...) that needs to be inside the tftp server, where can I get a sample of that? SYSLINUX 3.10-pre20 menu.32 hang in SIS900 bootrom
Hi, HPA: Thanks for the nice new features, appreciate that. Syslinux is always a nice program. For the new version, 3.10-pre20, I encountered a problem now, my client machine uses sis900 chip, and it still can not run simple menu with pxelinux in this version (3.10-pre20). It's same situation as I encountered when I used syslinux 3.07, 3.08 and 3.09. For 3.10-pre20, I compiled in Fedora
